Hi, Fellow Members,

I am looking for:

LED TV , 39 42

Max Budget Rs.40,000

FULL HD (do we even need a Full HD, wont an HD will do), SMART if possible, NON-3D

Only: TOSHIBA or SHARP (Warranty 3 years);

Maybe: PANASONIC, what warranty do they provide ?

Currently have a SAMSUNG 32 with color problem: black turns green, for exchange.

Kindly advise best options available in Del / Online market.

I may even opt for a 32" for want of good options.

Toshiba offers 3 yrs warranty on selected models... For the rest of the line up, you get only 1 yr standard...

Samsung also offers 2 yrs warranty on selected models.... Take the catalogue from the shop & check yourself & as the sales man may not be ware of it....

If you would be primarily watching HD Broadcast, SD channels & BR Rips thur USB and HD is more than enough....

If you are open to Plasma as well, you may check Samsung 43F4900 Plasma which is a HD screen + 3D TV....Around 40K...

Hi

Walk into a Vijay Sales / Croma / E Zone and do a bit of window shopping..see what appeals to you in vision, sound and warranty. Look at the TV in all angels from a viewing perspective to ensure you can see the program / movie clearly from various viewing angles....most important check the connectivity options HDMI, analog, composite etc...USB slot which plays most movie formats would help as then you don't necessarily need to switch on the DVD player or HT system to watch a simple movie.

check the prices at local TV dealers and check for warranty...I did my window shopping at Vijay Sales and picked the Toshiba PU series atleast 25% less than mrp from the local TV dealer with 3 years warranty

I read online that it can be solved easily by opening the TV and cleaning some cable inside.

Samsung LCD Green Screen - CNET Samsung Forums

Thanks for pointing it out.

Yes, as a protocol have googled it & already know about it.

But still gave Sammy technician a chance, his assesment, as expected w/o opening the TV was to change panel but when confornted with the cable cleaning etc he said yes we can try it, so did it but no fun, maybe he did not do it correctly.

Will try DIY, need to get that screwdriver first.
