I am an Indian and want to purchase LED/LCD for my room of size 40' Full HD.Which model is best and whether to go for LED or LCD?

LED & LCD r just about the same stuff, except the lighting, but which the tv companies(some) mkt them as two very different types with these so-called led tv being better & priced at premium.Better watch out for this gimmick & choose a tv u actually need, instead of a showroom salesman making the decision for u!

Search all relevant topic @ HFV, get properly informed, know ur needs ,head off to a showroom where the tv's r on display, tally the accuracy of ur knowledge abt the tv & the actual product & therafter buy the right tv .Hence be a Happy tv owner forever! :)

If u do care abt my take,...u can look out for samsung 40"d550 lcd tv,which gives a Happy balance between PQ & Featureset!.... still carry on ur own search to find the tv that u actually need!

If an SPVA panel which has best viewing angles, deeper blacks and picture quality is your search then do consider the cx520. It comes with an SPVA panel for sure unlike sammy's panel lottery system though it offers multiple video format playability like mkv...

i have a Sony 32"cx420(FHD), ...& sony usb media playback& support is downright pitiable, particularly compared to Samsung & LG's!.....mkv is supported only in those 2011 Budget lcd tv that that has the older BE3 PE,like the Cx30,cx420 or the cx520 & mkv playback there too is miserable,...about 40-50% of these mkv videos r Not played at all or played distorted! Add to that ,these 2011 BE3 Sony's doesn't display any sort of external subtitles, doesn't support custom zoom levels through usb nor can they output DTS audio stream in ur movies & at top of that r priced more than the competitors like Samsung ,LG,which has the Best feature filled tvs & has no such usb playing issues!

Now,Panel lottery issue apart, which again i think 80% of aam public/viewer could never find a difference in the pq of amva vis a vis spva, ,but is guaranteed on a sony, ....a Samsung tv offers Best & competitive pq & best vfm tv's in the mkt. today!

Anyway, do ur personal research & findings b4 u buy ur tv!

*btw, 40Cx520 is Not available in India through the official channels!

cx520 is based on X-reality it doesn't support MKV period.
40cx520 is available officially.

^yes,u r correct!....so if u opt for Sony, u can get a 40cx420 officially or a 40cx520 through grey mkt, which is the better tv,but with very limited usb video playability as i said...else get the sammy 40d550 which has the best balance between Feature, performance & Price.!!!
