Hey Guys,

My bro wants to buy an LED 40/42 incher this Diwali. We have shortlisted the two 5500s, LG & Sammy. Pl suggest which of the two to go for. I am leaning towards Sammy. But, Will decide on feedback of people who are using it.

Kindly also uggest best price for both.

Thanx inadvance.

I have gone with the Samsung LED 40D5000 as against LG as I found PQ better, not sure but I think the USB support is more and also I got it in the grey market.

The benefit in LG mainly is the extra 2 inches in the screen size. This will tanslate to 10% larger screen. Otherwise have not really seen the LG more than once in a shop.

People, need feedback.

@Raghav - Wat has your experience been with the D5000 so far? I have also honed on the same after checking out a lot many models. Will buy sometime this week

Looks extremely good when wall mounted. If you put it on a table stand then the benefit of the thin panel goes as you have to provide 10" to keep the table stand. My LCD which was mounted on the wall before was jutting out around 5-6" with the wall bracket. The D5000 is only around 2" and that gives a great look.

As for picture quality, I have so far only watched SD via Tata Sky. However, the first impression is that PQ is very good even with ambient lighting at all times. My other TV LG PQ30 with Tata Sky +HD looks inferior than this for SD content (Star Plus, CNBC etc). I am yet to check out BD rips on this via USB. Will do so in a few days and compare with my Optoma HD20. I have no BDP/DVD connected to the D5000.
