Which speakers for Audio Technica Vinyl plaYER?

The chain you need is turntable --> phonograph preamplifier --> line level preamplifier --> power amplifier -- > speakers.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I am now better informed about it, and at the same time further confused about what should I buy. My gut feeling is to buy only a pair of good quality active speakers (and I can be absolutely wrong on this), but I need your suggestions concerning it.

Should I only buy a pair of active speakers (please suggest some good ones, and a couple of real good ones, if you can), or should I buy an amplifier and a pair of passive speakers? Which one will sound better? If the former will sound at par with the latter setting than I'd like to save some bucks.

Thanks

Separate amp + Speakers is recommended usually. The active route is chosen if you are looking for something cheaper, or don't want to clutter your bookshelves with too much equipment

Go for active one that'll be best for your study room.
