Among samsung ua32d5000prmxl and sony 32ex520 which tv is more durable and lasts more number of days? What is the average lifespan of each of these tv's . I need suggestions from hifians in this regard, as i am desperate to switch on to a new HDTV.

If there is no problem in the initial months and you provide conditioned power preventing damage from power surges and lightening strikes either one will serve you for more than a decade with usual use.

I owning a samsung bourduex 26" HD ready for last 5 years and still working superb with everyday usage. Even my Akai 25" still working, 15 years old. :)

With proper power supply, your tv will run for a long time. My two year old panasonic tv is running without any problem.

Assuming that your power supply is stable - No fluctuations between Samsung and Sony - Sony would last longer - My first color TV Sony KV2032 MK II is still in perfect working condition- bought way back in the 80s

Normally all TVs should last for a very long while though LED/LCD and Plasma are very different technologies and every one has a few quality issues here or there. What you should look for in reliability is the trend across the manufacturer sets. In this case I would give Sony a slight lead over Samsung but not by very much.

Go with a TV that looks best and a decent warranty (ideally over 1 year).
