Which TV & Where to Buy?

Hey guys, my first post here. Great forum for audio enthusiasts. Im planning on getting a home theatre in a couple of months when I move to a new house. More on that later. Just starting my research for the TVs as of now. Will post relevant question threads when I need to.

Basically one room which is 13x10 will be kept as the home theatre room. The viewing distance of the TV would be 10 feet or a little less. I was advised that a projector will be useless in such a small distance and to go for a TV. Im under the impression that the newer plasmas are far superior to LCDs and LEDs, and much cheaper

So what would be a good size for the above? I was looking at the Samsung website and a 58". How is that TV? Any other suggestions and sizes (plasma or lcd)? Please mention approx prices. Would like to keep it below 1.5l since the rest is for the 5.1 setup. The TV will be used for probably half cable TV and half movies.

The second is for a bedroom, which again will have about a 10' viewing distance. I have no clue what to get here. I want something between 42-50", bigger the better, but this has to be around 80k or under. Dont need anything exceptional. It will also be used as a comp monitor by me. Suggestions please.

Also where in Mumbai should I get these from? Where will I get good Prices?

SONY KDL -55EX710 will cost u below 1.5 lacs and an awesome picture quality and LG 55LE5500 is also an awesome LED-LCD set and wow picture quality

Even I have booked the same sony model in 46 inches.

You won't go wrong with any of these.

Hey guys, bumping this thread. Now my requirements have changed, and I need your help. Hoping to get more responses than earlier.

For the home theatre have decide on the Pana PTAE4000 projector, so no tv there. Now I need 2 more tv's. In one room I need a 42" plasma, which will be used 99% of the time for normal tv. I dont think i will need full hd here. So which one would you guys suggest? I want a normal reputed brand and would like to keep this as cheap as possible.

The second tv is a 50" one. Again plasma im presuming since it seems more vfm because we get a bigger screen for a lower price. This will also be used for normal tv, some hd stuff and as a comp monitor sometimes by me. Now what do you guys suggest for this too? Dont need 3d or anything, I guess 70k is a good budget for this?

people have bought panasonic x20 for as low as 32.5k, seems very good vfm for your 42"requirement

At this budget for 50" these are the only options, lg pk550 , sammy c550 and there was a hot deal going on for samsung 6 seris 6500 for 67.5 not sure if it is still available
