Lot of times people are constrained with budget, In that case It may not be possible to get everything best out of the constrained budget.

Instead Try to Build HT in a phased manner.

You can avoid surrounds in the initial phase. Trying Preamp and Amplifier route is better. I would prefer two good speakers over 5 satellites. What I mean is to accrue some money it is worth while wait.

Unfortunately we dont get used stuff here in india. Audiogon is a great site for used A/v stuff. Most times you get it for less than half the price. I strongly prefer Used speakers, Amps and preamps over the new ones.

I bought a used REL strata III subwoofer last year it cost me $1000 including shipping. The same costs over 1 Lakh here in audio people chennai. Most of the audio equipment are high end they are pretty reliable.

Building a HT for music or movies should be a slow process and if it evolves over years it will be better.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
