why does YHT-2910 cost more than YHT-299?

as far as i understand, Yht-2910 does not have anything better than Yht-299, instead it has fewer connection options than yht-299. how can Yamaha charge such a higher price for something which is clearly a downgrade? or is there something in yht-2910 which i am missing?

Because they are "in" the entry level market now with 299. Now they want to make profit out from crappy models.

My 2 cents -
Being a newer model, firmware upgrades support would last longer for yht-2910
Also, the difference is about 3 k now - so over the useful life of the product the difference does not really matter.
