Wi-fi Range extender for LG Smart TV

Hi, I am not sure, whether you have purchased something by now. But, I would recommend Powerline adapter for this purpose. I have 4 of this and one near my TV and then connected a 4 port Wi Fi Router, so that, I could connect my XBox, AC Ryan, Marantz SR5006, TATA SKY HD etc. One Powerline Adapter should connect to the ADSL Modem thru wired, and another one near the TV in the power socket. It works perfect no cabling and as well no breaks for even full HD movies! I bought TP Powerline 500MBPS for 40GBP a pair. It got very good reviews. Moreover, their support was good as well, when I had some issue setting up 4 adapters. M2C.

Regards

I'm not sure why this is not being used here extensively. How do they actually work? Do I just need to connect one with the wireless router and another one to the TV. Can I stream the movies in my hard disk to the TV in HD quality? How about the cost and is it worth buying?

Amazon.co.uk try for Tplink 511 powerline adapter. There was a sale when I bought it. I paid 39 a pair. Then shipping. Good thing you can mix brand as well as long,as they are compliant.

TP-Link TL-PA511KIT 500 Mbps Gigabit Powerline Adapter - Twin Pack: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

This is what I purchased. I had a deal when I purchased. There is a industry standard called "Homeplug". So, as long as any plug which is compliant to this standard can be mixed.

And as well as the diagram of what I have done, is attached below. If you need specific steps i.e. configuration on the Aztech router, I can share it. Also there is another model which can act as Powerline Homeplug + Wireless Repeater from TP Link. But for streaming (from internet or from uPNP/DLNA), you need wired connections for stable performance, especially high bit rate movies.

Just for testing purpose I borrowed an Asus wireless repeater from a friend and used it on the LG TV. It works but the problem is it is too slow and too much buffering in youtube videos. I am yet to check the connection from my system to TV. I'm sure there would be lagging and buffering if I try to play HD movies from my system hard disk.

It is a 4Mbps BSNL connection. Yes, youtube is working properly now. Also movies from my system hardisk are also playing good but if it is a large file(more than 4GB) it takes sometime to start. Initially thought of buying a powerline adapter but for a good quality one the price works out to Rs.6000/-.

initial buffering depends on the smart tv also.... the buffering time is less in media player like wdtv live and almost zero buffering lag in my Xtreamer Pro.
