hi,

did you got the connection. Since i am looking to get it as well (need to check feasiblity at my place), wanted to ask whether at your end they shall be terminating it on ethernet or the same dsl/adsl interface. Fibre to home means have they terminated the fibre in your building or nearest place? wanted to know details about it.

Thanks for sharing the link.
not sure if these modems can be used for a fibre optic connection. they seem to be the standard adsl modems.

i checked with the local exchange and it is available in my locality. the fibre cable will i think teminate at my building.

My friend's using a Huawei wifi modem provided by BSNL and it works great too with his 4MBPS connection. If you want good range and throughput, you've to spend little more.

And the optic will end up in your building's MTNL DB and from there to your phone / ethernet.

Cisco / NetGear / Buffalo WiFi router/modem are available at good price at Snapdeal. What's your budget ?
2 things,
#1 Avoid crapdeal at any cost.
#2 don't go for linksys/ cisco if you budget is less then 20,000/- absolute no support for low priced device / home use device.

consider any cheap router which has WAN port, b/g/n days are about to over. and at-least b & g will die when ac will introduced in next 4 months with 7 Gb/s transfer speed over the air.
check brands like Tplink, Buffalo or Dlink.
netgear = too pricy without any reason & supports suks.
