Will this all work together ?

Hi,

From the above threads understand that you want to make a PC which will run HD movies and look neat. There are multiple options like IOMEGA which is available which has Media cum HDD players available. You should see these options before you go to create one for yourself. Evaluate ofcourse the time and cost involved. Search google for Media Hard Disk players with storage.

These players have HDMI / digital out to connect to TVs and AVRs. The firmwarm for most of them is updatable via download.

Hope this helps.

Thanks ROC. On a parallel path I am looking for that GT 440 and low wattage intel cpu combo. The GT 440 seems to have disappeared from the market !

btw : My cooler master micro atx htpc cabinet will come by tomorrow.

Also - the cooler master comes only with a 300 watts psu. Will all these work ?

I don't know if you eventually did get an HTPC or not ?

I was in a similar boat sometime back. Looking at your requirements if you just need it for media/music/photos and no computing needs then here is a sweet suggestion.

I got a Samsung Blu Ray Player Samsung BD-F6500

At 10k its excellent value for money and here is why

- Can play Blu Ray discs (How many HTPC's have a blu ray drive)
- Plays all the 3D formats without a fuss
- Plays almost all video formats I have fed it so far
- Can read an externally powered USB HDD. I connected my Seagate 3TB HDD, worked fine
- Has a dual core processor
- Has Ethernet
- Has inbuilt wifi
- Comes with all the Samsung SMART TV apps
- If you want the jazz of movie metadata , it supports Plex
Install a Plex server on some other device and install the Plex app on the mediaplayer.

You don't need any graphics card, even 9gb movies play very smooth.
