Workshop on Genelec Speakers & Loudspeaker-Room Interaction

Hi all,

As I had mentioned in the 'HFV Mini Meet for Genelec Studio Monitors Demo' thread http://www.hifivision.com/av-lounge...lec-studio-monitors-demo-mahim-mumbai-12.html Post no.112, I am glad to announce that we are arranging the 1st workshop for Mumbai Members on the 12th of February 2012.

Foll is the Agenda:
An interesting tech PPT presentation for HiFiVision members giving a detailed run-through of all the (special) technologies & design elements in Genelec products and some interesting insights on loudspeaker-room interaction which can be golden knowledge to setup main speakers & subwoofers properly for great audio reproduction. In addition, a run through of some practical acoustic design ideas for listening rooms & a short presentation on how modern advanced DSP technology can be cleverly used for notching out room modes and calibrating frequency, phase & time alignment with a live demo.

All this will take about 4 to 6 hours of presentation time, so request all to kindly confirm their presence ASAP for the same, as a venue needs to be confirmed once we have an idea of how many of us would like to be part of the workshop. A small fee might be applicable for entry depending on the number of people attending for costs towards venue/refreshments & such. Tentative Timing will be from 10 am onwards.

Remember, 12th February 2012 is a Sunday, so it should be convenient for almost all including the ones who missed out the last time.

Hope to see a large audience as the purpose of this workshop is to educate ourselves & work towards the betterment of this fascinating hobby of ours.

Great effort denom. Damn i am in Mumbai this coming weekend

A request - Is it possible at all to record this session ? Apart from logistics, i am not sure whether there are any legal issues with this, but would be great if you can do and share the recordings.

Thanks for your kind words

Regarding the recording request, spoke to the good folk of Genelec & they are not comfortable with this as they plan to present a lot of special inside info and technology that obviously they dont want publicly circulated to prevent misuse or reaching the competition. Recording the event hence will limit the extent of how much they can disclose of the insides of Genelec system.

We have to respect their decision. Hope you & others understand this.
