It is unfortunate that no blue rays released for Tamil movies. I used to collect Tamil movie songs blue rays, now they are not available as they are not releasing blue rays.
I have seen some places where they sell pirated blue rays for new movies but none are lossless ( true HD/ DTS master audio) just 5.1and bad quality. Looks like slowly blue rays are also disappearing.

At this situation of disappearance of CD, there is a possible way to CD/digital file collection, and that is sharing among friends and known ones. Sharing of CD in a copiable format (wav rip or CD image) can be the only possible solution in this situation. One can either make a CD or listen to it directly in a computer. Since there is presently no streaming service that streams CD quality audio, this approach of sharing can be helpful.

Hope they would upgrade the sound to higher resolutions in future. But the problem is how many cares to make it worth for them !It is the era of netflix/amazon prime/streaming apps now!

Exactly, I am ok with streaming provided it is of high quality. Both Netflix and prime are just Dolby digital and not lossless format.( DTS master audio or Dolby true HD) There is night and day difference between these two in good systems. Local play back outperforms streaming due to reduction in bit rate.

We have to understand that the average consumer does not care about quality and he is willing to sacrifice quality for convenience of streaming at will.
Therefore streaming of metflix etc will keep on increasing at the cost of disc media despite being inferior.

Thats true, i have only watched a single blu ray at home myself. I wanted to see if it was better than netflix. Yes, being an middle class indian, end of the day its the question of one hell of a movie experience or hell lot of movie experiences

I agree, that is why not many audio cds available now and most of them want to listen mp3 or free downloads.
Same with movies, most of them are happy with 5.1. Whether audio or movies streaming will have limitations for sometime.

To give you guys an example, I searched for Linkin Park albums in CD. There are seven albums. Unavailable or way too expensive to import. So what to do? Stream/MP3/YouTube are the only options left though I don't like it.

That is the same case with old A R Rahman tamil movies .For some old movies reprint or new version of CDs available but audio quality is not that great. I agree something is better than nothing.

I have grownup listening to Cassettes and then transformed to CDs.
Nowadays almost all music labels has stopped pressing physical CDs. We are more interested in listening to Physical CDs than digital music.
So we group of audio cd collectors have started Crowd Funding Audio CD project of telugu upcoming movies and unreleased.
The minimum number for each album is 300 auido cds , we decided to share the amount and cds equally.
As we thought of 50+ members for the project ,we have now reached 25 membership, i request interested audio cd lovers to join our project and support us.
Interested members please PM me to join our project.
I talked with Lahari Music and Junglee Music labels to press cds of unreleased movies , they are ready to press minimum 300 cds for each album . Talks are going on with Aditya Music .

Thats how we have to move forward, I remember few groups were started for Tamil films too,But vanished. We have handfull of new albums which deserves CD.Most of us running being Collection say before 2010 which had very good titles ,but CD's either disappeared in market \ in hands of greedy dealers.
So we have to compromise on Digital (Flac\Wav) and get it shared within a group of ppl a collective effort.
It is a very good initiative. I wish someone should start the same concept for Hindi Movie title
