Xiaomi to launch Mi TV Q1 75" on 23rd March - QLED, 192 Zones, 120Hz

Just got the Q1 75" few days ago, overall the picture quality looks really good, but sometimes dull (probably calibration issues).

The most annoying thing for me for now is how sluggish the UI is while playing some 4K content, it sometimes reaches a point where even adjusting the volume takes a few whole seconds to respond.
Also noticed occasional frame drops / stutter while playing 4K 60FPS on Youtube, which I think is unacceptable for this kind of TV.

Is there any promised software update that should make things better in this regard?
Some other things that bugs me:
  • There is no quick way to get into the picture / sound settings (Need to go through: Press 'set' button -> go to "Device Preferences" -> "Picture" / "Sound"), only when viewing HDMI source with CEC off, I can press the center circle to get the quick menu, but it doesn't work from all the apps (Netflix, Youtube, etc.)
  • CEC needs to be turned off in order to set HDMI 2.1
  • Not being able to output to TV speakers and S/PDIF at the same time

Are there any recommended picture settings for this TV?
Adaptive luma control - better kept "on" or "off"?
Local contrast control - "on" or "off"?

* PatchWall is not available in my country if it makes any difference
In addition to this:

  • I want to connect an external hard drive permenantly to the TV (to use with Kodi) but every time I turn on the TV it shows a message that a new device has been connected, can this be disabled?
  • Today I went to watch some 4K content on Youtube and other apps and at some point started getting a lot of frame drops which makes the viewing impossible. I think it might have something to do with the TV overheating and the SOC dropping it's performance, but I'm not sure how I can test if that's the case.
Overall the main issue with the TV is the poor CPU performance, I really hope this gets fixed with SW update.

Same issues (see previous posts). I'd recommend reaching out to Xiaomi so that they know a number of people have these issues - then we might see them fixed quicker!

@neogen I have a strange problem downloaded a Dolby Vision movie and but not able to get Dolby Vision in Kodi. What's the issue?
It's not a strange problem as DV is closed source and requires a license fee to play the same. Kodi doesn’t do Dolby Vision yet. Rest Kodi is playing perfectly

I am looking for a 50 inch TV, (as this size only fits my wall)...any suggestions for a good model which is VFM. This will be my secondary TV and usage will be very less.

LG CX 48" if available at a fair price. Some places they are offering clearance sale.

For a secondary tv no need to spend on a oled which are most expensive . Go for a normal led from lg or Samsung. And you can use it extensively for sports or news , without worrying about burn in like in oleds.

Just get any 50" TV in the 30-50k price range. Nokia, Motorola, OnePlus all are basically rebranded from the same Chinese ODMs so the quality is basically the same. Just get whichever's software and features you like more.

I'm assuming since it's a secondary TV the picture quality doesn't matter and you just need it to watch news/DTH in another room. I just repurpose my 2013 42" Sony 1080p for that, and it works fine.

Thanks for feedback. Any specific model if you can suggest.
Just go to Amazon and flipkart and put your size requirement of around 50". Tvs are normally 48".
to 55".
Select sony, lg and Samsung in filter.
Dont select Nokia, Motorola, OnePlus , etc. These are all rebranded Chinese TVs.
I checked just now and the price range is around 50000.
DONT buy from Amazon or flipkart though. This is just for reference. Physical stores sell the same tvs cheaper. Take the specifications and prices of the tvs you like and go to the physical stores. Now you have reference prices.
I saw a Samsung 4k tv for around 51k on flipkart. Though ppl might say no use of 4k in 50 inches, i personally would not buy a full hd tv now.
