Yamaha AV Receiver with Speakers - Please help to choose

Hi FMs,

I received the below setup from Vipul audio tech, chennai for a home theatre setup.

AV receiver:- Yamaha Rx-V 477

Speakers:- Floor standers:- Yamaha NS-8390

Sub:- YST SW-315

Center/Surround:- NSP-60


Just wanted to know whether this package is worth buying?

Hi,

The AVR 477 is good and is doing well in the market. I am not too sure about Yamaha speakers. Their Studio models are doing well in terms of performance. You may want to consider matching Jamo 400 or 600 series HT speaker set. There is also Boston Acoustics which is indeed true value for money. All depends on your budget and what appeals to you.
