hi yogesh i have yamaha yht-195 and for me it's true pleasure while watching movies and listening music on yht-195,no regrets at all and value for money :clapping:
for me it is always better then those built in amp.home theaters
hyeah:and as far as connectivity is concerned you wont get disappointed as it has lots of connectivity options including HDMI.

I had the same dilemma and then chose Yamaha over the Onkyo for primarily two reasons-
1. Yamaha had a powered sub for the YHT-195 while the Onkyo-3105 had a passive sub. The Onkyo 5105 has a powered sub but it is more expensive than the Yamaha by around 5k (the additional 5k could be used to get a better source such as a DVDP/Media Playr or speaker cables)
2. Yamaha AVRs are better known for their music capability, so that gives an edge over the Onkyo AVRs. Please take into reckoning your music usage before taking a decision.
For HTiBs, I have hardly read anyone complaining about making a wrong choice. That led me to the conclusion that there isn't much of a difference to choose from anyway- for our everyday usage.
So go ahead and buy what YOU like for a particular price. If there are minor performance enhancements necessary, there is enough-and-more expert advice at hand here on this forum to take care of that.

So far the performance has been quite satisfactory- even though I am still toying with the settings etc. to get the best out of the system.
My usage is primarily movies and this system is pretty good with that. Haven't used it that much for music, but there are some enhancer functions in there which make even the MP3 tracks sound good.
I really don't know if I can compare it with the Onkyo 3105, because I demoed it only for a few mins. But I do feel the Yamaha packs amore punch due to a powered sub. The Philips 4750 is hardly available these days , so don't know if comparing it to anything is worthwhile. It is acknowledged as a versatile system by others here though.

I bought mine in Bangalore (for 25k- Reliance Digital) and got it over to Chennai.
Installation is hardly a problem. There are detailed instructions and it is pretty simple to set up.
The advantage I had that there is a Yamaha dealer in Chennai in case there are issues later

hi i bought it for 22k from vijay sales mumbai & may be u r right that it may not be available for 22k at all the place,i got it for 22k because it was in (one day)offer,as the guy in the vijay sales told me that they do not sale below (minimum)27k during normal days,well u said live in rajkot right? then try check in the cities like surat or ahemdabad(if possible) check for vijay sales shop in this cities. well i specifically mentioned vijay sales shops because they r authorized dealers of yamaha and may provide u system at some discounted rates.

yes yht-195 has built in FM and AM tuner it has two HDMI in and one out and it has DTS (not sure for DTS NEO)

1080i is the max that could be passed thru component, there is no discrepancy here. For true HD (1020p), you can switch them thru HDMI on the receiver.
