Yamaha information

Hello and good morning to al.
I am looking for some help as not only a new member but I am 82 years old. I have used a Yamaha DVR S 200 cinema system for 18 years and decided to buy a Yam RX V585 HTR receiver and I planned to use my speakers all went well until I went to plug in subwoofer, No system control port on 585 for S 200 subwoofer. Can any body advise please?

Use the Pre Out port at the back to connect your sub woofer(s). Which sub woofer are you using?
You may need to get a cable suitable to use with the 585.

The subwoofer is the Yamaha Model NX SW 200. I have connected to the pre out but no response. The original cable has a system connection but the 585 does not a system connection point

The sub that I am using is a Yamaha NX SW 200 that has a system connector cable as well as the sub cable. The 585 has just 2 of the sub connector ports. It's the system connector that I need to plug into the 585. Thanks for reply .

you need to check is sub is on in setting on avr

@Hammo, I did a detailed review in 585 a while back.

You need to connect the sub cable between AVR and sub, second connection to sub should be for power. There is no other connection needed between AVR and sub other than the sub cable. I am not clear on system connector cable? What is it?

Just plug sub cable to 585 and power cable to electrical cable and your sub should be fine.
