Hey HIFI experts.

Just bought myself a Yamaha RX-V373 and are very happy with the unit.
My Marantz SR4300 died on me here the other day, and was unsure weather this Yamaha could deliver the same punch, and yes - it does, also the sound is crisp with my B&W's.

Ah, btw - my problem lies with playing audio.
My setup includes HDMI from different sources and to the TV and sound are perfect from all sources, but i im frustrated of not having the possibility to play audio while watching TV!!!!

Selecting the Tuner, i can use the option button so select a Video-out source, but not with Audio.

Anyone got an advice of how to get around this bit?

;)

Can you explain the connections please.. If I understand correctly..you are unable to get audio from HDMI ??

Can you check if your TV is ARC supportive.. ie Audio Return Channel . Because I am in a similar position :( I am using a TOSLink cable to get the audio from the TV. :(

Hi rud

There are no problems within hdmi sound transmission. My connections are purely hdmi based except from my Sonos audio source where I'm using phono cables to audio 1 input.
I find it annoying not to be able to watch TV while playing pure Audio/music, as I can do while in tuner mode.

Have you tried to remove your TOSlink?

Hehee.. My TV s not ARC supportive.. that i ve checked by connecting only the HDMI DAY 1 and was disappointed :sad: .. any who I guess you can try changing the AUDIO IN to HDMI from the settings or somthing.. (My best guess.. May be I ll try experimenting too, don't have no Phono though.. but prolly in the weekend :( )

Looking at your queries I believe (correct me if I am wrong in my assumption) you are trying to watch TV over HDMI and would like to listen to the Audio (tuner or other source) at the same time. I am afraid this is not possible as you can select only one source as input at a time on the receiver. I am not sure whether there would be any receiver capable of doing this kind of playing 2 sources at the same time.

Thanks
