Confused among the two. Is the network feature in 475 much useful if one has a WD Live TV with Network?

In terms of power output, does 475 have any significant advantage? 70W vs 80 W (Rated Output Power (20Hz-20kHz, 2ch driven))

I am planning to pair it with entry level floorstanders (like Boston Acoustics A250
or Polk TSx330T) or a pair of Bookshelves (like Boston A26, Dali Zensor 3)

If you like to play from your android mobile/tablet wirelessly to the AVR, then this network function is handy..... I have tried this from my Android phones & they work pretty well...

Higher output power the better...

How much is the price difference between 377 Vs 475

Hi Lostincrowd

The 375 / 475 series when launched seemed to be a hit and I recall a lot of forum members purchasing and discussing the same.

There was also someone who asked about the 377/477 and it seems that this was a setup model with some add ons.

Based on your requirements and budget, you should make your choice...ofcourse more output is always welcome from a future upgrade perspective.

How important is stand-by pass through of HDMI signal? You dont require your AVR when you are watching News or watching general channels. 477 supports standby through of HDMI signal whereas 377 does not. Does that mean that you will have to start the receiver everytime, you have to watch TV connected to STB via AVR? It will mean your receiver will always be have to ON when watching TV.

This is a very handy feature and I use it the most. What it means is the HDMI signal will pass along with audio to your TV. So without switching on the AV Receiver you can watch channels. This helps in cutting down the power bill.

If the STB had HDMI-CEC function, then the AVR remote itself would replace the STB remote in near future atleast for changing channels, volume control functions...I hope it becomes a standard very soon...

I think for local purchase in India RX-V475 will be more better model for the price. RX-V377 is priced quite higher than last year's 375.

hi all,
i am new to this thread and am considering of buying a receiver and 5.1 speakers to go with it. I have shortlisted the yamaha rx v475 and the energy take classic 5.1 system. Now here is the problem im planning to get this from us so obviously the voltage is 120 v 60 hz , and the energy take classic is 10 v 60 hz at 1A and im not sure about the yamaha's voltage and freq although i assume it would be same but im not sure about the current the output wattage is listed as 575 watts. So my question is what is the the wattage of the stepdown transformed i should get, will a 1500 watt step down transformer be enough to power both
