Hi Guys,

I am looking for Yamaha RX-V465

Can any one tell me where can i buy that in Mumbai, other than Alfa.

Alfa does not seem to have that and there lead time to get that is around 1 month which is too much to wait for.

Quick response would help as i need to gift that to Some one in this week.

Alfa has so far best prices with Bill & warrenty.
Secondly 7 series AVR are better than 5,so think of newer models.

Apart,you can get Yamaha @ vijaysales,alliance4(Goregaon),The Shop(Andheri)

465 was on it's discontinuation plase.so availabality was limited
Also as Doc Spiro says 467 is better ,also search in th forum I think as per posting by venkat sir 5 series models ( 465 is one of them) had power supply issues.
Venkat sir please can you confirm?as it is most of modern electronic is extremely fragile ,especially mass market models so imho such warning cannot be ignored....

5 series are under powered,ie-power supply of 465 is weaker than 467 on paper.
& series has better circuit design for Analoge & Digital.

ok , so what i summarise from all your inputs is that the 467 is better than the 465 and also since the 465 is discontinued the availability is limited.

now my question is that is which set of speakers is better for Yamaha 467
Mission or Jbl.

Price range?
again my vote will go for mission as mission and yamaha is from same distri and mission package is available at attractive price

Nothinh=g against JBL I used JBL 140 package with yamaha and was satisfied

Thanks Guys for all your feed Back.

:yahoo: Bought the Yamaha RX-V467 and Mission 5.1 Package.

One more Question is that which Optical cable should i buy to connect with AVR and Western Digital Media Player.

Also if you can guide me to a link on how to go ahead with connection, like connection my LED tv with the AVR, if i want to hear the TV sound through AVR.

Thanks Guys for all the Feedback.

:yahoo: I have bought the Yamaha RX-V467 and Mission 5.1 Package

Need to some with Connectivity of the AVR with my LED TV and the WD media Player.

How to i connect my LED with the AVR for Audio if i have to hear the TV sound through AVR.

and which optical cable to buy to Connect my Media Player and AVR.

1. Do not use optical cable for connecting Media Player. Optical cable can not carry HD Audio signals (it does not have enough bandwidth). Use HDMI.

2. For connecting TV, you can use either Optical or a pair of RCA.

How much did you pay for this package?

why optical cable? no need..
get 2 HDMI cables and 1 pair of RCA (red and white) cable.. :)

1. for audio/video on WD player

WD media -> HDMI -> AVR -> HDMI -> TV

2. for audio on TV

TV audio out -> RCA -> AVR

Congrats & hope the system rocks.
Which mission you opt for?Where did you purchase?
Now as said ,use HDMI cable from WD to AVR & then AVR to TV.

My Media Player does not have and HDMI out, it has Component A/V and Optical for Audio.

Please suggest which cable to use.

I bought the Package for AVR-22k and Speakers 16k

Guys ,

Can any one of you guide me to a link which can guide me setup my AVR

i want to connect my AVR to

1)LED TV
2)Pioneer DVD
3)WD Media Player (no HDMI OUT )
4)MP3 Player

Shashank I think any decent optical cable will do.
BTW MX cable is decent.
I have one Chinese one and one Monster optical and frankly not able to tell the difference.
Alfa also keep optical cable i think.

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
