Yamaha RXV671 or RXA700

Just started on my HT project and got a good offer from Amazon on Yamaha RXA 700 ( USD 329 ). Which is better RXV 671 or RXA700? help needed friends. I know the 671 is a newer model, but the USD 329 offer on the RXA 700 is too attractive to ignore. Not yet decided on the speakers. would welcome suggestions for that too

The 671 is similar to 710 which is a newer version of 700. Unless you need the new features like networking etc, save the money and go with rx-a700.

Oh and you get one year extra warranty with 700 compared to 671. Not sure whether its useful in India, but it only tells that Yamaha stands behind 700 better than 671.

Yamaha rx-a700 is similar to 667 & has 7.2 preout & multich input too.You miss USB & network function of 671,still rx-a700 is avantage series with better components.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions/comments. During the day past...i started to consider the RX A810 for my first AVR. Any comments and suggestions, esp if compared to RX V 671

Don't you know? That extra foot makes it audio file quality.

Yamaha RX A810 is better than 710 & has better power output with all possible features.2 HDMI out can be handy.

Okay...now for the speakers....views on pure acoustics supernova 5? with Yamaha RX V671. I've finally decided on the Yamaha 671. Other on the radar are Jamo S418. Also what does the forum think of yamaha sub 315 with the above config?

Paradigm ,Energy,Q acoustic can go well with Yamaha.Monitor audio is also which can be considerd.

Finally took delivery of my RXV671....now waiting inputs from forum members reg. speakers...... Wharf 9.5, 9.1 and 9CS? what say? any other suggestions welcome please.
