depends on what you use the HT mostly for

If you use mostly for watching movies and occasional music then go for Onkyo

or if you use it for both movies and music equally then go for Yamaha

The Onkyo HTS3700 comes with Passsive Sub , but HDMI is 2.0 supporting 4K .
Also has built-in Bluetooth - you can stream Music Digitally

Specs wont mean much. It will be easier to go and check with your favourite movie and music disks.

Its hard to judge just by reputation and specs.

Resale value of htib is quite low in comparison with separates.

I have not heard Onkyo HT S3700 .
YHT 299 is good setup ,clear n crisp sound .It has an active sub which is an advantage over the onkyo HT S3700 .
Heard other Onkyo HT .It is a kind raw power sound which is very good for movies.
