Yamaha YHT 299 or Sony Muteki STRK55SW

Dear Pranjandas ,
I liked the treble aand base quality of Muteki .... For Yamaha 299/2910 i heard its a very good system but what about the kicking base and loudness of the system ? I'll be connecting my Xbox One/Ps4 to the AVR. so i want a typical gaming experience. size is not an issue for me. Just compare the Treble+bass of Yamaha 299 and Muteki according to you and lemme know which one will suit my purpose. Your help is truely appreciated !! :clapping:hyeah:

the model available at snapdeal is a 1550W rms and doesnt have bluetooth and video play back ability. The latest model is a thumping 1950w rms with 4k passthrough and bluetooth and NFC with 3in/1 out HDMI slots.

Querry - Can i use my Sony Muteki AVR to connect speakers other than Sony's ??

hi, what is your AV room specifications?

Let me tell you, the Subwoofer with Sony Muteki is not ACTIVE as compared to Yamaha 299 which has an active sub. This makes a lot of difference. If gaming is in the back of your mind, I assume you will love to notch higher volume levels than the "normal volume", I dont think Sony Muteki should be your choice, I suppose this system is targeted to party hoppers, mini DJ type for your home, hence the peripherals. While taking a decision myself I adhered to an old dictum: "Too much of anything spoils the whole thing". Agreed, given the right audio settings, Sony Muteki has this capability to make the windows rattling.hyeah:

See these are all personal choices. You should strictly listen to your heart as its YOU who has to enjoy the audio!

Last but not the least, dont fall prey to marketing gimmicks like 1950 RMS, Sound Blaster, Dual Woofer etc. etc. Think Rationally what you require and what is value for money for you.

Yea.. my Room Specs are 20x10x12 . dual subs of sony and single sub of yamaha with right settings ..... which one has better bass ? I like deep bass.
Also what about about yamaha's volume when maxed out ? sony's sound didnt distort when maxed out !! Good treble ... could hear the snares distinctively !!

Large Room.... you can consider buying Sony Muteki, if it suits your taste and budget.

Haha...good. so I have got a new friend in you...great!! Take it from me Reliance Digital does NOT have 299. They have 196 demo piece. Its RD Noida who referred me to Pacific Mall for 299 adding RD Express Pacific has only one packed piece of 299. I have been many a times to RD Noida, they have dedicated set up for audition of various HTs including Sony Muteki. In my opinion, instead of settling for 196, alternatively you can audition BS+Marantz set up there and make up ur mind. I struck a deal for 52k for sony muteki (1950RMS, M55 Model) but finally went for Yamaha 299 at Pacific Mall.

I got it from Digital Express in Noida... They had the last piece and I struck the deal at 32853. Good deal... I negotiated hard. Initially he offered same price 34200, but later after negotiating hard he did some calculation and offered 32853. Lucky I guess.... good luck with your search for those who are still looking for it.
