LGA 775 had PCIe 2.0, with x16 slots so most GPUs will work. However we still need to have exact model number, coz some manufacturers might deliberately limit the functionality ....
No GPU/mobo is limited to 720p, even way before 1080p FULL HD standards were started being followed. The standard resolution was 2560x1600 for GPUs dated as back as 2006/2007.
@asaldharan download this tiny app called CPU-Z ... install it on the PC run it and click the mainboard tab and share the screen shot, eample below for my laptop ...

Hi Sam,
Hope you are good.
My system is currently running with IDE hard disk and now I want to add SATA 2 TB HDD.
Would I need to change the SMPS and RAM If I add 2 TB HDD to my system?
SMPS- Zebronics 450W
RAM - 2GB DDR2
No more additional components added to the system.
Thanks
Nope no change required ........ But does your mobo have sata ports ?
ok cool then .... sata hdds should work ..
^^ Usually it is direct installation, (keeping the system off ofcourse..) but could be that you might need to enable sata ports (just a random guess, coz usually it doesn't need to be). but safe to say that there would be no damage to the HDD
Processor type has nothing to do with HDD, but BIOS is ... too old bios will not support >1 TB HDD so you have to check that .... what was your mobo model number again?
PS
; and yes that processor is 64Bit not 32 ..
@sam9s - when are you pllanning to leave? hope there's still some time.
Leave where Bro ... ?
for your trip
ooo Thats still far end june, I might have opened the thread a bit too early ...lol. Still planning, venturing all itineraries ... . Tripadviser has been a great help ....
ok so the machine is up and running. have installed the Win OS in the SSD, in the first partition of 40GB. the next partition of 60GB will have softwares & some games. the last partition of ~10GB, planning to install openelec in that. hope this much space will be fine for it?
Thats not how openELEC works (or linux for that matter) .. try nonetheless ... Installing dual boot with linux is a bit more complex than the usual OS install ...
