Thanks for that.

My gyro's about 6 years old and does a couple of hours every day....no problem.Full version my friend with the DC motor. I put the orb clamp and spindle kit on it last year. The best next step in my view. The clamp is a beauty.

And just for the kicks thatguy, you answered your own question. Last link in your post tells that India is THE country with maximum number of English Speakers (as an additional language), and second only to the USA in terms of overall speakers. :D

So, more people speak English in India than in any other country except USA. :clapping: And that includes the UK :ohyeah:

....

I don't mean to pull anyone down

Hmm. You are trying to pull down a straw man. Lets go through this again. Musicbee's assertion was:

Contrary to world opinion... most Indians are well educated and proficient in English... and that's not just limited to us audiophile Indians.

And not "there are more English speakers in India than any other country".

Which part did I get wrong?

I can also tell you something that the Wikipedia doesn't say. Native speakers of any language don't speak the language as well as someone with a second language does.

An interesting topic that has kept many linguists awake at night. Which is the *real* language? The one that the native speaker speaks or the one that has been frozen in books by grammarians?

But that would be a topic for another day with appropriate drinks. All I can say at this point is that jumping to a conclusion in this debate is probably a bad idea.

hooo ... humm ... well, well ... we guys are 'that' good since most have burnt midnight oil on 'Wren & Martin' at school.
Now, back to some discussions on the 'warm, laid back' Britannia sound signature if you all may, please.

Thanks all....I had a chuckle at that one.
I used to be able to see the 'Castle' company from the top of the hill where I live. A tiny place the factory was then. Before it moved to China. We also had 'Wharfedale '.....now in China !
We still have 'Sugden ' though who make fantastic amps.

Well, I'm not 100% sure, but I think that my Castle Severn II speakers, bought more than ten years ago (2001-ish) come from the pre-China days.

Yes... the label says "designed and Manufactured by Castle... Shipton, Yorkshire..." :)

I had gone to a London shop to audition amplifiers. I didn't buy an amplifier, but I enjoyed both the look and sound of the demo speakers so much that I bought them. 300 at 50% ex-demo offer; one speaker has lost its "Castle" logo, otherwise perfect :D

I really don't know how they rate against currently-available stuff, but upgrade is not on the financial cards. They will only ever be replaced if they fail.

After enjoying forum-member Dr.Bass's Tannoys over in Singapore a few weeks ago, I was most impressed to find, on checking out the Tannoy site, that the would have been made in Scotland! :ohyeah:
