The SVS subwoofer has its own inbuilt amplifier. Infact it will lessen the load on your avr where bass is concerned.

Oh really , then I have been mislead earlier 😳
If stereo is your only preference then go for a sealed sub SB series(room size matters).
I would suggest to look at other brands too for your budget and what gives you the best sound, build quality and local warranty for your money.

OK . I have option for both PB1000 and PB1000pro . I am having 30K difference in pricing. Let me know what’s the key difference in terms of performance ( of course the driver size differs 10” and 12” , and pro could reach as low as 16 HZ ) for casual movie watching and music with apple 4K , will ter be a huge difference between both models

If you are not in a hurry & open to preowned then wait till something good pops up on the HFV classifieds.
These new subs from SVS , Rythmik or Rel are not vfm at the current prices.
Pls check this out if you have not bought speakers since a sub could be delayed as these are floor standers depending on your room size to accomodate them at a decent price.

@Nitin K I can definitely wait as I believe that all good things takes time ( not in hurry ) ; currently I have Dali Oberon 5 for LR . Also is there a chance to get notifications when there is a sub on HFV classifieds

Pls look out for a sub regularly in the classifieds link below. Infact a preowned Rythmik sealed sub got sold sometime back.

By the way Oberons are good. I am using Oberon1 with a Rel HT sub and it sounds good for my needs.

Thanks on the classifieds update . Yeah Dali speakers are good and satisfying my taste in music ; for music I look for the room rattling lows especially on action sequences for which I need the suitable sub . Hence the search is ON . SVS has some rave reviews on YouTube and forums , not sure if those real or just made up for marketing

I have had SVS PC 2000 and currently REL. SVS was good for movies and the sealed REL is good for both considering my tastes which is music /movies = 50:50.
Pls consider your room size too for the sub. If Arendal , PSA , HSU or Ascendo are available at a lesser price then go for them.
