Hi Everyone, I am from Bangalore and I have purchased Wharfedale diamond 12.4 floorstanding speakers (30-200 watts at 8ohms).
Looking for an amplifier to pair with the speakers.
I am planning to get demo of Rotel A11 tribute but I feel 50 watts per channel would be less and my understanding is I cannot add a power amplifier with its pre out since it's not volume controlled. I got a demo with Rotel stereo integrated amplifier 1592, I liked the sound but it's out of budget.
Please recommend any good integrated amplifiers around Rs 75000.
And also if there are any integrated amplifier with good pre amplification stage so that I can add a power amplifier later.

Thanks

I have a spare integrated amplifier MarantzPM80MK2. You are welcome to try it as see if it makes sense.

Hi Rohan, this is my very first hi fi setup. I don't have a DAC planning to add Topping E50 later. And don't have a streamer as well. Please feel free to suggest and guide me. Now hustling to make the budget for amplifier 😂

In your budget, checkout the Audiolab 6000A and the Marantz M1.

The 6000A is only 50Ws but is guaranteed to have good synergy with any and all Wharfedale products.

The Marantz M1 is a streamer/DAC/Amp all in one with 100W @ 8ohms and is available for a fantastic price on Hifimart right now. It is not expandable but that's the beauty of it. It's good enough to support your next upgrade in speakers without the need to upgrade the rest of the chain. Plenty of reviews to checkout online as well as on this forum - checkout the one by Andrew Robinson on Youtube where he compares it to a bunch of other amps. It sounds lovely with my Wharfedale Evo 4.2s as well as my Spendor CLassic 2/3's.

Thanks for your suggestion I will surely try this.

please audition the amp with those speakers in stores before purchasing. You can look at audiolab 6000A, Rega brio etc.

Go to the local HIFI store and look for options there and try with your speakers. Since it is your first setup ill suggest that listen it yourself and then make a decision. Your budget is very good. I have a Denon PMA 900hne. It has both streamer and a DAC built in. I am using Both streamer and A DAC separates but the built-in streamer of DENON is good too. You can upgrade it afterwards if you want. The audio is good and powerful and I believe it will match well with your speakers. IMO 900hne is a pretty solid option for you and you can build/upgrade your system in future on it.
Some time ago I was at your position and getting overwhelmed about what to buy but at the end I feel I made good choices. I know how overwhelming it gets just make sure whatsoever u purchase you purchase it after listening and do consider the 900hne and audition it. There is one more budget version called Denon 600ne don't buy that the former is pretty worth the price jump. Trust me

Hi Rohan
You are absolutely right it's overwhelming. So many amplifiers to decide and prices are crazy. Not able to get demo also for many amplifiers which are available only on order basis. I will try to get the demo and decide. Thanks for your suggestion.

No I just got the demo at store that too with a very high end integrated amplifier with Rotel RC 1592
So you have done the most important, trickier and harder purchase without demoing it in your room! Now the rest is all easy peasy from thereon! If that speakers behave well in your room then you get lucky with most 100 watts amp.

With heuristics- amp is (relatively) easier to choose and has very little or no room interaction. It's job is to illuminate the speakers fully. Just go with known good combinations for wharfedale, for example. Don't put yourself under pressure to carry your speakers to demo the amp given you bought the speakers the way you did. If you can carry speakers it's great, but for a realistic picture, it needs to be at your house with your cable and power line. Choose an amp which is complementary if not opposites in character to your speaker. Ie if it's an energetic speakers with a tweeter of some reputation then get a warmer laid back amp like marantz. Also pay attention to damping factors matching of the amp to speakers( i forget the formula but i think it's a ratio of load/speaker impedance divided by internal impedence of your amp). Some speakers need higher damping factors and some others lower.
