Best gear to go with Wharfedale Linton at a reasonable cost

What a coincidence @nitinmi9 stays 5-10 mins away from my house :D

Soon we will be connecting and do some tests.
Met @amrutmhatre90 yesterday at his home.

A very humble and welcoming person. Enjoyed meeting him and listening to his gizmos.

After lot of discussion, the conclusion was - I should try a streamer instead of bluetooth and optical to listen to the songs.

Luckily, I already had an Arylic S50 Pro+ which I was not using (to reduce the number of components in the system)

I hooked into my system, and yes, glad to say there is a lot of difference. Some missing dynamics and body has come back. Additionally, arylic also has remote and basic tone controls, which has now allowed me to use D300 as pure Dac and play with tones especially in low volume listening.

The chain now is -

Arylic
D300 (only dac)
O&B power amp
Lintons

As next step - will replace some connects - coax and rca to a better quality. Any value for money recommendations? don't need long wires. 0.5 mtr preferably.

Thanks for tagging me @Yelamanchili manohar

Hi @nitinmi9

With Lintons these won't give you the warmth if your chasing, O&B is neutral and I see no Pre Amp in your chain with just dac in it, it will be sound neutral.

I own Wharfedale Lintons, and recently had a chance to audition them with O&B power amps. Aniket was kind enough to get the monster home and try it out.
Its superb power amplifier, the control it has on bass is top class. Depth and imaging is very very good.
Can reach 85-90db easily without feeling bright or fatiguing. Only Amp I think I wanted to hear it louder!

EverSolo was used as a pre amp, but I think it didn’t do justice to this amp at all. Needs a good stand alone Pre Amp which can match this.

You need a good pre amp to make it sing the way you want, what are you chasing ? I mean sound signature.
I see you too are from Mumbai, you can drop by my place to heat Lintons with different amps :)
@amrutmhatre you mention Eversolo as a pre-amp with the O&B as the. Was that DMP A6 or DMP A8 that you say does not do justice. Thanks

Hi @rkumarblr it was the DMP A6 standard edition,

I don't own the Eversolo currently, but some say after multiple software updates in the past it doesn't sound as analytical as earlier.
Don't get me wrong, Eversolo and O&B combo is not bad, but if one is looking for smooth warm presentation they need to look elsewhere.

Am mostly into old Hindi songs. Kishore kumar era and late 90s types.
A good class A/B integrated amp like Audiolab will go well with the Lintons. But if you really want to make them sing like they can, class A or high powered Tube amps are the ones to go for. Carry on with the current one and keep saving and looking for a preowned deal. No DAC or streamer can make up what an amp loses on.
