Any body intereseted please buy the same.

Buying Philips product now has become more of a gambling because it may work for years to come or give itself up within a years time....Philips has excellent R&D and design in Holland but its manufacturing facility in China is below standard and produces unreliable products.

Review:

Cons: Remote buttons are very small, difficult to use
Does not work with 50ft HDMI cable for 1080P, worked okay with 720P
May not be best upscale performance
No composite / component

Pros: Very good price
Reads NTFS hard drives
Plays most of the video file formats like .mkv, avi etc even 8GB size
Good Quality of the HD Video

The same deal is in chroma as well down here a month back. Decided against it, as it was a clearance sell and only one piece worked after trying three! Not reliable and highly outdated. But, if you're looking for an alcheapo option, its the best bet.

This definitely not a clearance sale. They have several brand new peices in the store. Also, this model is released only in the month of Aug / Sep 2011.

hello,
its available at flipkart .com @ 5300 , can u tell me hows this philips bdp2600 running? do u find any issues with the player? is there anything that you think should be there in it?
thanks

I am myself of the same view regarding philips. none of the philips prodcut that I have bought in the last 10 years have proven to be durable. So much so that I even stopped buying their cfl bulbs.

I have the same to report about their regular bulbs. In the last 5 years, 8 out of 10 Philips bulbs I have purchased have conked out from within 10 minutes to 3 weeks of purchase. Now I run around shops asking for Surya or Wipro bulbs only as most shopkeepers stock only Philips.

hi,

in manual specs it says that it can support fat16 & fat32 partitions but doesnot shows it supports ntfs...does it?

also does it bitstreams hd audio so the avr could decode it?

the only challenge is the reviews of starcj on net....the price is superb, but after reading reviews of starcj, i wonder if they will even ship anything...has anyone here bought anything recently?

Hi,
Greetings for the day...

Does it decode DTS/HD-MA and Dobly True HD....???
Have to pair it with a Yamaha YHT - 196 system....

Any suggestions on how to get the most out of the whole setup would be more than welcome....

Regards,
