Why the hell Sony partnered with Samsung at the first place? They should have gone with IPS technology. Now its too late for Sony. It will be very difficult to bring back the SONY name just like their glory days of 80's and 90's.

Hi.. Never say never bro.. Sony's high end tvs ( hx920, hx820, hx720, nx720) are still better than samsung's high end ( d6600, d7000, d8000 led).. There was a time when apple was almost finished but look at apple now they are stronger than ever.

I hope you do realize IPS has some major drawbacks especially with regards to contrast and black levels. NO IPS panel equipped TV has ever been rated excellent ever.

did sony make losses because they always had the best panel in their TV? samsung used panel lottery, and got away with cheaper panels in their LCDs.

Sony has become sick and not doing well, their CEO Howard Stinger said few years back that they will quit Audio / Video and get into entertainment business.

Very sad news that Sony is also dying a slow death. It seems quality produts are thing of the past. Even money cannot buy the best products because they are no longer made.

Just thinking what Akio Morita would have said if he were alive today.
Now its the cheepo Korean and Chinese stuff we have to get........8-((
