VERY URGENT......Mission M35i vs MX3

In short, I liked the Paradigms, Aviano and Jamos in their price ranges while I did not like the Mission and Wharfedales in their price range.

Below are highlights..

Paradigm - Bright, lively sound in the price range.
Wharfedale - Laid back, dynamic, non accurate sound stage. (opposite of paradigm)
Jamo Concert - Midrange details and soundstage in the range.
Mission - Mixed up sound. Not recommend for stereo (at all). but since you are looking for HT you might be impressed
Aviano -Best bass extension, grunt, bass quality, recessed mids. (good for HT)

You decide what is important.

from the above, which do you feel would be best suited for stereo? Everyone has been saying good things about wharf but its really frustrating not being able to demo them.

I actually heard the Mission MV8 in HT and the MX5 in stereo..........was quite impressed with the MX5 actually but then again I have not heard wharf or Paradigm for me to compare. Heard the Jamo a really long time back, dont actually remember, this hunt has been going on for more than 6 months now

I recommend taking a good look at Vikram's (sagarvikram) Paradigm 9s. They are literally mint new and available at a steal price.

Hey Akash, Mumbai is not too far away...it's just a 2 and half hr drive from pune. why don't you try for an audition over the weekend at one of the dealers of your preferred makes/ series and then decide! All our good friends here have provided you the best of the reviews and views and suggestions...but the decision will have to be entirely yours!!!

Thanks, will be in touch with Vikram. Paradigm 9 might be a bit out of the budget, but maybe the Paradigm 7 might work for me. Need to get a demo first.

I recently heard the 7 owned by rohitmusic. Honestly I'd buy the Titan over the 7 anyday. The 7 sounded "small" and that could be attributed probably to the smaller drivers or also the speaker being fresh out of the box. The 9s are definitely superior of the three.

Aquarius - Pune has a year old Paradigm Monitor 7's and they are letting it go for 32k . Not too sure if they still have it. Check with Behram

I have heard the Mission's at Soundscape and to put it bluntly I found them to be pathetic.

I would pick a Wharf 9.5 or 10.4 over the mission's any day.

Just spoke with Behram.........he is giving me a good deal for wharf 10.5. Will go to demo the wharf 10.5 and paradigm 7, both are now more a less the same price. what would be your pick from the 2?

I have heard both of them at Behram's place and anyday i'll buy Paradigm.. not because i own them but on the basis of what i heard there.. Infact i heard Klipsch too but i liked the Paradigm over Wharf and Klipsch because of it's open and detailed sound.. But again it's subjective.. U may like Wharf or Klipsch.. so happy Auditioning..

Never heard Mission so cant comment on their quality.. As Kishor suggested, you can go to Mumbai to get an audition.. Just don't purchase anything without listening.. better to spend couple of hours driving rather than regretting later..

There is no answer to what is best suited for stereo.
Unless you audition, you never know.

There is no straight answer like in the case of plasma TV.

And I dont like wharf if that matters.

Same here. The wharfs are way too dry and uninspiring for my taste. They are like dry British Humor and following laughter(?), barely move your lips and pretend you are laughing.

Try the Titans or Monitor 9's. They produce better bass than 7's.

just out of curiosity..........the Mission MX3 / MX5 are rated higher than the wharf diamond 10.5. Any reason for that? I know reviews need not be taken too seriously and merely act as a guideline. Just makes me think........should demo the 10.5 and Paradigm this weekend.
