Hi

Today I had a demo at Reliance Digital with these speakers for stereo. And I felt they being very good even though they are 2 way FS. I had a demo with Yamaha 471 receiver and sound reproduction for music was very good. I listened to the music via a CD player connected directly to the receiver with mp3 files and the sound was very soothing with vocals very clear. It seems that these are the latest models from Yamaha. The price was also very attractive 5990/- speaker. There are hardly any online reviews for this model except some in UK. Do anybody has got any idea about these speakers for stereo as well as movies with my yamaha 571 receiver.

Thanks in advance

No idea about the speakers... but your 571 is a good AVR... you can partner better speakers for doing justic to its capabilities.

Thanks yes I have with the Energy RC-Micro satellite speakers and they sound superb with my receiver for movies. But not so good for music, hence was looking at these FS for both movies/music as my L/R and replace my Energy satellites as 6 and 7th channels to complete it as 7.1 channel.

I did audition the FS with 471 receiver and they sounded very good for 2 channel music and also looking at the attractive price was thinking of going for them.

Thanks

which Reliance digital store in Bangalore (location)
Also pls reconfirm pricing:D

Hi,

Are they 5990/- each or for a pair??? :D
As per under noted link, they retail in UK for 21250/-
Home AV Direct: LCD TVs | Plasma TVs | Blue Ray & DVD Players | DAB radios and more

Can you take your AVR there & check it out??? If possible that would be your best option, post which you can decide whether you like them or not.
Doubt whether anyone has even heard of these here.

Do post your findings post demo
:)

Thanks denom, even I got the link when I googled it yesterday. It is available in UK and some parts of the Asia/Pacific only. Yes the price after discount is 5990 per speaker so the guy at Reliance digital offered me the pair for 11900 with 1 yr extended warranty (reliance care or something like that) as free apart from the manufacturer 1 yr warranty.
I have the 571 with me and when I did the audition at the store it was with 471 receiver and I really liked the sound. So I felt like it would sound the same or even good with my 571  . Even some of the online reviews which I was able to get seems to indicate so..

Thanks

Ok took the demo again and got convinced and took the plunge. The speakers were delivered today and connected to my 571 receiver. I could not believe they are sounding very good for music as well as movies. I am now continuously just listening to music (and movie has become second thought ) stopped listening to my sony hifi system. The total damage is 11900 with free delivery. Delivered in very good packing.

I brought this from Cunningham road branch of Reliance Digital. It is a 2 way bass reflex FS speakers. Now I do not regret that I invested in a less cost speakers. Very satisfied with the performance.

Thanks

Hey Manninraj,
After coming back to Blore I did go and audition the NS-F140. As mentioned by you, the sound quality and overall performance of the speaker was astounding compared to the price. I too took the leap. Sounded pretty awesome with my Norge 2060. Waiting for the speakers to be delivered. Also need to wait for my amp to burn in. Hoping it sounds even better :)

I was also apprehensive when I took the plunge, but looking at the price and performance they are the FS to beat currently in the market. I am more than happy with the performance, I also got some speaker spikes from amazon.de thru one of my friends. Need to connect them to isolate from the floor. As of now I have put them on wooden plank. I hope they sound even good after I put them some legs/shoes. You can contact Magma of sound foundations regarding the same. I had contacted him but my friend was coming down from Frankfurt so got it from there.

Thanks

I am about to take the plunge for an AV system. Have Yamaha YHT 196 in mind. Its about 23k At reliance. Thinking of adding NS-F140 / NS-F150 to the mix. Is this a good idea?
F140 is 5990 and F150 is 8990 each.

I am planning to put my F140 for sale as I got a Zaph audio 2-way bookshelf speakers made by myself. If you are ok with used one you can check out mine and its in perfect condition as you are also in Bangalore. It is still covered under warranty and I have the extended warranty from Reliance care for another year over the Yamaha warranty. I am not able to PM you regarding the details, you might PM me if you are interested.

Thanks

I have seen NS-F140/150 on display at most of the Reliance Digital outlets. You can try to audition there.
