A very close friend of mine has an old Mark Levinson Proceed CDP which conked on him a few weeks ago. With Harman now in India is there local support available here India for repair?

My friend is based in Bangalore. He is not a forum member.

Would appreciate any help from guys like Venkat etc who are in touch with Harman HPAV.

Thanks in advance!

Even if Harman India claims support for the player, I would not trust them to do a good job. If it was me, I'd try to source the circuit diagram from Harman and take the player to a competent electronics tech in my city (or even a neighbouring one). I'm sure someone here from your city can suggest a few good techs who could help...

My friend had got in touch with ML in the USA but they wanted him to send the CDP there which started getting a little too complicated. I'm not sure if they would hand over a circuit diagram but its probably worth trying.

As long as your friend has the papers, I'd be quite shocked if they refuse to provide schematics. I would not be surprised if the schematic is already floating around the web. Either way, good luck to your friend...

If that Proceed CDP is a "PCD" model, it uses a Philips based setup. Best would be to take it to a Tech fellow who is competent to work on equip like this ...

I doubt what Harman Service can do abt this let alone this CDP hailing from 1990s era. Does your Friend's Unit look like this ?

They had the PCD | PCD-2 | PCD-3 over a decade in the '90s.
