Hi All,
I am getting a good deal with dyns x12.ld a better choice
Wondering if it would be a better choice than the epos epic or elans ?
Has anyone listened to both ?I am planning to finalize the deal by tomorrow .:)

1.I have a 12*12 sqft room. How deep are the dyns bass compared to epos epic 2 or elan ?

Dynaudio speakers are in general tough to drive, so you will have to get a quality amplifier to drive them. What amplifier do you have in mind? I heard the X12 recently in Kulua Lumpur and was impressed by them....good allrounders, played all kinds of music well. They were paired with Naim amplifier during my audition. The dealer told me that among the dyns, the Excite series are the easiest to drive.

I have not heard Epos speakers, hence I would not be able to comment on them.

What is the price you are being offered for the x12 in Kolkatta? How do they compare with the Epos/Elan price wise?

I think Driving the Dyns wont be a problem as I have the MF m3i.
I don't have any of them in Kolkata ...I have only heard the M12i are good allrounder ,but a little too forward. There are rave reviews about EPIC2 and even the Epic 5 ... so wandering if they are better than x12.

kushanava,

now that you have the amp... take it around to audition a few and select from there.

I see no point in going by reviews.

It could be the X12 or the M12i or epic or elan or MA or even a Rega...

Take what your ear likes, forget the brand.

You have to live with the music and not with the brand.

Thanks mpw.i dont have the option to audition the epos epic or elan series as the dealer here wont get them without an order.MA is not available in Kol.Ya I know it would be big risk to buy it blind..but being in kol you hardly hav an option.Though I liked m12i , but to me they r fwd for my long time listening.I am not brand biased ..but logically you would buy by reputation if ever do a blind buy.So if someone has heard both he can atleast tell me whether its worth the money!!
By the way..i am not seeing any updates on ur amp hunt..??
The ultimate satisfaction is when u love music and want to play it one more time...and forget how it came out of your speakers..

only thing is - if you do ultimately decide to go by reputation.. there are varied opinions on any product.

i was only trying to tell you to do some hard yards with the amp so that you understand what the amp and source can do before you place your bet on reputation.

everyone feels they own the best but what is my best may not be your best..

:)

i am sure in kol you may find a few reputed brands to give you a taste of things.

Our FM Pratim Bayal from Kolkata has a pair of Usher Be718 on sale too and you may try taking your amp to his place to see if it matches. These are supposed to be good too.

anyways.. its time for the audio caveat.. YMMV amd good luck..
