I have an Audiolab 8200CD. Just over a year old. A few days ago I switched it on, but there was no sound from it. It lights up, reads the disc and plays it as well, but there is no sound at all. The amp, speakers and all connections are fine as I have tried them with my TT. As Audiolab does not have a distributor in India, could anyone guide me to a reliable person/service point to look into the matter ?

In some CD player there will be an option to reset the player if its locked internally. This had happened in my Pioneer DVD player and resetting it solved the issue. Please refer your user manual for the procedure. If this is a case of a data hang-up or something similar then reset of the player can resolve the issue. All personalized setup will be lost and it will restore to factory default values. Check it out and let us know.

Cheers,

It worked !!! Thanks Hari. That saved me lots of trouble and money. Thought I'd have to ship it back to the UK to have it repaired! Back to my CD's now :-)

right, Its always good to read the manuals once in a life time for future reference.thanks
