Hi All,
First of all, thanks a lot to hifivision forum for guiding me in the right direction to hifi world.
I bought Mrantz AVR 1402 and Monitor Audio BR2 bookshelf speakers.:clapping:
For now, I do not have a blu ray player.
So, I am using my Samsung LED TV to play all HD Rips from USB HDD. Good thing is that - it is able to play all file formats and I am able to bitstream DTS/DD audio to AVR (dts or DD logo is displayed on AVR).
I am pretty satisfied with the picture quality.
One thing I have noticed is - the sound output (volume) is lower from the movies played on the TV from USB compared to STB (normal channels, not HD).I would have expected it to be the other way round..particuarly for high bit rate DTS files etc.
I am wondering what could be the reason? I am thinking if TV is the culprit...Will a blu ray player help in this regard? The TV output is connected to AVR by optical out.
Has anyone noticed any difference in the sound volume when the same movie is played through TV or laptop vs a blu ray player? Does it even matter from where the movie is played? Please provide your opinion
Second reason for BD player is - inbuilt wifi so that I can access the internet and stream videos. So, I am looking for BD players with inbuilt Wifi. SOny does not have any such model in India. And I do not want to buy Panasonic as their service in India sucks. So, I am planning to buy Samsung F6500 ...here is the link -
BD-F6500 - OVERVIEW | SAMSUNG India
is this a good choice?
Thanks for all your help and cheers -
