I am not a gaming person so my PS3 is just used mainly for watching BD movies, I plan to knock it off and get a BD player in its place which I feel will be more practical. Please advise if it is the right thing to do and also advise a few good BD players that can play 3D content too. Thanxx in advance :ohyeah:

The PS3 is an excellent blu-ray player with better than good picture quality. The PS3 can play 3D too with the latest firmware update. The main disadvantages are:

- player navigation using the game controller which is a little cumbersome. But this can easily be overcome by buying a dedicated PS3 player remote.
- cannot be made region free

Other BDP may not bring any particular advantage other than simplicity.

Stick to your PS3. I used to have one which i sold off for a Pana blu ray. But at the end of the day the PS3 can do both jobs- gaming and movies very well, while the Pana is just a good blu ray player. Today i regret having sold off my PS3 in a hurry.

Can you mention reason for your decision for ps3? Whats your budget and intended use for bd player like using it for 3d movie etc?? Do you need dual hdmi out? As around 10 k you get 3d blue ray player with single hdmi out but dual hdmi one start around 15k....
