Acer H5370BD - Impressions

i joined this forum four months back with the intention(read confusion) of buying a projector.I had LED PJs in my mind like many of our FMs.But later when i saw this thread I made up my mind and now I am confused btw Acer H5370BD and Epson EH-TW 550.5370 if shipped through ishop will cost me around 40k and 550 will cost 60k.So my question is whther it is possible to get the 5370 repaired in india itself?Also is it worth spending 20k for the peace of mind with epson.

Jidhin, buy any Projector, but keep in mind that a dedicated UPS is a must for running the PJ. Then you need to buy long HDMI Cable, PJ mount, screen, glasses etc.

This is the actual cost of your projector experience, now take a look at your budget and then take the call.

Thanks to prosenjit for convincing me to go for Acer H5370BD PJ and also all the members in this thread for your valuable comments and suggestions. One of my friend is traveling from USA to India next month and is going to get one for me. As thanksgiving is round the corner keeping my fingers crossed for a good deal.

But i do have a question regarding the PJ. I live in Hyderabad and it gets pretty hot during summer (42C to 45C). I am planning to setup the PJ in my hall which doesn't have AC , so is it safe to run the PJ for say 2 to 3 hrs non stop (watching a movie) during the afternoons. I am scared that the bulb might get overheated and damaged. I might be wrong though, please suggest. Are there any alternatives to keep the PJ cool(Other than an AC )

I think you shouldn't worry about this much. Apart from that there is a setting in PJ for high altitude. With this setting, the fan in the PJ will run frequently to cool down the projector.

sir what va UPS will you suggest..

i have 1000va invertor running and also have 2 spare pc ups of 700va each.
i see that max consumption for acer is 280w which should be handled by 600-700va ups. also my projection distance will be 9 feet only and the projector will run in eco mode even in day time as room has windows towards shade with no sunlight whatsoever and heavy drapes.

leo keep a watch on amazon / newegg for november 28th and 29th for thanksgiving and black friday deals. though the deals will run for a week but these 2 are the most watchable days. its for 499 as of now on newegg. i believe it will atleast drop to 450 $ which was the retail price a few months back or maybe even as low as 399 $.. fingers crossed.

got for the scansonic 3d glasses. other fm's have purchased the same and said to match it very well and comfortable to wear for long durations..

naah naah.. question is about the UPS .. what kinda UPS ill suffice ..

i have a 1000 va invertor running already and another 2 pc ups extra of 700 va each. will they be able to take load of projector if power goes off. or do i need a bigger one ?
