Acer H5370BD - Impressions

Yes, the PJ needs a good source file. Ideally blu-ray or 720 rips are needed to really experience the cinema quality. I guess that should be the case with any projector.

subbu, 9 feet should be enough. there is a chart in the PJ manual for throw distance, will let you know on Monday. I have tried standard TV channels and they look good.

Congrats karthiksk, and welcome to the club.

jsanand, we should have a poll / some number displayed about the number of owners of this PJ.

Also, how about taking a picture of your current settings and posting it in this thread, it will help all of us. I will add mine...

HI Premblr,

Let us know your settings for the projector made. I have set them as Dark Cinema setting. Which looks the best one for me. Is there any other custom setting which can produce the best one.

I read projector centrals review and followed their instructions on the settings, they have screenshots of the settings to achieve the best picture levels...

I am in 'User' mode with custom settings as per the above website, will post pics...

Guys,
Thanks to you all, reading your posts I changed my mind to go for Acer H5370BD and got it through ishop ...., got delivered yesterday 42 K landed price

happy to see the reproduction of TV output, figuring out screen now

New owners, can you please post your reviews and some screenshots... we can also help to better your picture if needed.

Driving from 14.5 feet to a huge 9.5 feet screen, I need to sit at minimum 10 feet to get a picture without pixelation.

So if you want bigger size screen, you need to sit farther away from the screen. Smaller screen sizes are never a problem.

problem is one of my bedroom that i am converting to my HT room..
is 14 x 10 while on the length side walls... i have doors. one for entrance other for balcony so those 2 walls are useless.

now i amd left with one big clean wall which can accomodate screen. i dont mind even if the screen size is 80-90 inches..

so throw distance will come down to 9 feet and viewing distance will be around 8 feet . content wil be strictly 1080 source.. files 10 GB and above. only 2 D as both my pc and media player are only 2 D capable.

only worry is will it be pixelated at just 8 feet viewing distance.

lighting wont be an issue. i am putting thick black /blue curtains and no direct sunlight so it will be dead dark even during 1200-1700 hrs..

Some more pics... 1080p Avatar
