No Elango, the first line itself says in all marantz receivers AND Pre+pro. It's explained quite well in that thread actually. I guess I just have to live with that now :-) it's actually not a big deal.

Got it.. Anyways, if your AVR is wi-fi capable, download the marantz official app from play store and you can take control of these settings direct/pure direct/audyssey settings right from your mobile than toggling the remote buttons & gazing thru the OSD on TV..

Haha yes true but I'm only bloody experimenting and not watching anything! I thinks it's a real stupid thing what marantz has done. In pure modes turn everything off just keep two fronts on shud be the solution, else it's a dumb button on the remote.
I havr pioneer VSX-1131 and its same in pioneer ma fren, so marantz is not the only stupid one, there are others also

Its a receiver and designed for Multi Channel with all processing going all guns.
In the end, its you who will decide what sounds best to you. Getting the setup right needs time and a lot of experimentation, tweaking, understanding of the system. Fix an appointment this sunday along with a couple of mugs if you are not flying :ohyeah:

MaSh
I am novice so asking
Which experimentation apart from speaker placement, speaker levels, eq settings (i use them very less) and manual or mcaac caliberation?

Let me state once again that my sr7010 does not send any signal to the sub in pure direct or direct modes if the fronts are set to small and sub mode is lfe.

Check this app.. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.pioneer.avsoft.android.icontrolav2014&hl=en It is official one from O & P corporation

Does the subwoofer still get signal even after setting your fronts to Large (or) full range?
No after setting fronts large in both pure direct and stereo and even in direct mode sub doesn't play.. Cheers
But everyone says fronts should be small in case u use sub, even if fronts are FS (i hv mission mx3) they should be set small

Set it to Small, so that lowest bass (below 80/100hz) goes to the sub, which they handle better.. Also you get the flexibility of adjusting the quantity of bass to your liking..

Alternatively, suggest you to experiment the crossover settings between sub and speaker and see what you like..

Ok but when fronts set to small, sub is active in alk modes

I think MCACC in Pioneer offers custom sound modes, where u can edit the settings.. Try making one custom preset, and check if you can set the fronts as large there..
I checked custom preset allows adjusting freq for each speakers i mean equalisers
