What has MBPS got to do with a media file? Are you talking about transfer speed for downloads? or are you talking about audio bit rate?

Cheers

The resolution of the video being constant its the audio that varies and hence contributes to the bit rate.

So from a video perspective, the 1080p will be better, but from an audio perspective, the higher bit rate would be better.

Since, the bit rate is significantly different, it implies the audio is compressed and so is likely to be audibly different.

It would also depend upon the equipments you use. For large screens the difference between 1080p and 1080i may be noticeable, but otherwise may not be significant.

Audio should be perceptible in most above low budget equipments.

[QUOTE= It seems u have mixed up a bit, the bit-rate ur are talking is in fact resolution of a hidefination video not audio, audio signals are measured through KBPS ie kilo bytes per second, for video, 1080 p is real hi def image, lossless audio is 320 kbps and above
