2011 Samsung Plasma 3D PS51D550

Supports 3D too and very economical price of MRP

i believe the selling price will be much lesser is very less time.

We should get it for less than 1.75L as I had got the price of 63C7000 with 3D offer at 1.75L without negotiation in December 2010!

Let me know the store name please, for future reference :) i am planning to get a big screen this year, this or the new lg PZ 9 series plasma.

D8000 must be more expensive but Samsung has quoted it at a lesser price than C7000 which is anyways good for consumers.

I am guessing the quote you got for C7000 was due to the reason they were pushing the 2010 models in the end of 2010 and jan 2011 so i am not sure it will the case with D8000 or any new D series at least for a few months.

Samsung is making the TV stage as "comedy".. It is making 3D-HD ready TV's too:ohyeah:Now the technology is in advanced stage and also people are aware/already ready to buy full HD TV's.

Don't know how the full HD 3D looks like in a 3D HD ready TV. Why they are giving an inferior product.:indifferent14:

3D is not required to be full HD cause many console 3D games are only and they work really fine. HD ready does not mean inferior product(ive seen many HD ready plasma being better than full HD LCD's) it is just adding 3D to HD ready will make this 3D thing reachable to more customers.

srinisundar,

the website says 1080p full hd
and resolutions as 1080

hope you are not seeing a wrong page and commenting.

No sane company in world will release a 2011 model in 50 inch with 720p

^ he is talking about the 4 series and not the 5 series i think.

4 series is hd ready and it is available upto 51"(i am guessing the 51" will cost approx 50k or even less ), samsung has just added 3D as an attractive feature to it, i guess they are going with all tv's from now will have 3D thing.

Its a 51" TV and Samsung had launched one in 2010 in US and has finally brought in India the 2011 version of 490 series!

First HD 3D TV for everyone - PS51D490A1 - Plasma TV - Television | SAMSUNG

Practically it would not make such a major difference in PQ on most of the 2D and 3D content as both are HD TVs. So, while there are twice as many pixels in Full HD TV and it can do 1:1 pixel mapping of a Full HD content, the difference between an HD Ready TV and Full HD is only about 25%.

Again, PQ depends on many PARAMETERS - picture processing engine, DEINTERLACING engine, Panel quality, etc. So just because a TV is Full HD, does not make it much superior to another good HD Ready TV. Take VU for example, I have seen on the showrooms and the picture was looking even worse than a CRT TV, forget about Full HD! It had terrible interlacing artifacts like a 70's CRT TV!

^^^, i thought u were talking abt this TV

No harm, just i joked...

However i could see all are mentioning that there will be no difference in 3DFHD in 3DHD Ready and i don't agree till i see and get convinced..:p.

However my question is when people are already moving to FHD why once again HD ready???that also in 3D....

If there is any possibility Whether the old HD ready pieces are just inserted by any chip which can do 3D and put into market???:D

The only reason could be for samsung to be first to give a cheap 3d tv @50 or 60k

And attract customers

720p doesn't make sense for a 40+ tv

It will be a problem if Ur viewing distance is less, u can clearly see the difference

Any way good news is that in 2011 we can get a 51 inch 3d tv for 60k

If u can spend 10k more you get full hd 3d

I made a trip to a few shops today in Hyd to search for this and other 2011 3D TVs. Here's what I've found.

- LG Shoppe, Banjara Hills: Cinema 3D TVs or 2011 3D Plasmas are not yet available for display but they were able to give me an approximate price. The Cinema 3D model LW5700 is apparently at display in LG Shoppe Kukatpally.
Approx. pricing for the 47 inch version of LW5700 is Rs. 105,000 and for the 42 inch version is Rs. 85,000 pre negotiations. Both models come with 4 passive 3D glasses.
For the 50PZ550 model, the MRP is Rs. 105,000 (shockingly high) and the offer price is Rs. 82,000. 3D glasses cost extra (about Rs. 6,000 a pop). The model is available in the godown. I checked with the sales guy a couple of times to double-check as this pricing is ridiculoudly high given Samsung's comparable plasma model D550 has an MRP of Rs. 78,000 and Samsung's glasses this year are relatively cheaper (close to Rs. 2,000 a pop as per one of the Samsung showrooms). I'm still hoping that the LG Shoppe sales guy made an error in checking the price.

- Bajaj Electronics, Punjagutta: There were no new 3D plasmas (Panasonic, LG or Samsung) available nor were the LG Cinema 3D models. The sales guy asked me to check again by the end of the month. Pretty disappointing. :-(

How good this TV is if you compare it with LG 47LX9500? I am planning to buy a 3D TV in a day or two. Since LG's LEDs are cheapest ones and in my budget, I though of going with it. Though I am always a fan of samsung. Some how I believe Samsung's products are better than LG. But in LEDs, LG's picture quality and viewing angle is better.

Power consumption is not a problem for me so i can go with Plasma too. The only reason I wanted to go for LED was 3D. Pls suggest what should i do. :S
