i am planning to buy 32" full hd led tv very soon.
my budget is 30k max.
i shortlisted few ones like Akai Takashi 32" full hd led for 21,840/-
also i saw toshiba, weston, llyod etc... with much cheaper price...
among all of these akai impressed me with features and reliability...

kindly tell me which tv is the best in terms of picture quality & reliability in this price range...

any other brands offering full hd LED tv in my budget range ?

If toshiba full hd led is available under 30000.then go for it.
but as far as your budget is concerned,i would also suggest you to consider some excellent budget friendly full hd lcd models like LG-LK450,LK430,Panasonic U5D which costs you less than 28000.

From the brand you mentioned, I think Toshiba is the only brand to go for.
Why not increase your budget a bit and go for some reputed brands like Samsung, Sony or LG.

My friend just bought FULL HD LED of Toshiba from EZone for Rs. 25000. I checked also and picture quality is good.

Do remember certain HD Ready LED they market it as Full LED. Be sure to check specification yourself before committing to purchase.

thanks for ur suggestions.... but LED picture is much brighter & better compared to LCD picture..
no one commented about the AKAI LED full HD which is available for 21k+ with offer... how is the picture quality & its performance.... also can i go with this brand without any hesitation ?
pls do suggest me any other brands which are worth a try in my budget. I am quit esure that LCD tv cannot give a better picture than full HD LED tv... so i am asking all of you to suggest me some brands also be it in samsung/LG/Toshiba/sansui...
waiting for your replies...

This is an incorrect statement. There are LED TVs that are brighter than LCDs but these are mostly high end 40+" models. The 32" is an entry segment and there is not much to difference. LED TVs in this segment (32") will only be marginally brighter.

This is because AKAI is very untrusted name in the field of TVs. 10 years ago they launched into the CRT segment and their TVs were found severely wanting in terms of quality. The trust has not been regained since then. They may have good models and maybe improved also but they are not mentioned in the same league as Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, LG, Toshiba, etc. And then what about their service? I have same opinion about Sansui also.

Why do insist on Full HD? When the TV is 32" only, and the viewing distance is 8 feet or more, there will be no perceptable difference between 720p and 1080p. Besides HD TV is 1080i. Only if you watch true HD (1080p) via blu-ray you will notice differences. Salesmen play on the psychology of the individual and will tell you anything. You should demo and check for yourself. Why spend more for something that you are not going to get? As far as models are concerned, I will advice you to stick to Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, LG, Toshiba. You may even consider Videocon and Onida but avoid Akai and Sansui.

@just4kix: ok, can you suggest me a good VFM 32" tv , be it LED or LCD... i want the best picture quality & also feature rich... sound output & should fall within my budget range..
tell me the model name & its price pls... i dont know the full technical details...
suggest me one best model in my price range +/- ... pls

i feel like we should have one table where we can easily find out which brand LCD/LED tv is the best one available at present in what budget range...
so that its useful for the people like me who knows very little about these technical issues about the tv to find out the best branded tv in a particular size segment available in what price segment...

mods pls consider this request and make it possible pls... its really useful for the newbies... i am sure this much info is enough for the geeks to come up with brilliant ideas to serve the hifi community...

thanks in advance... keep up ur good work bros....

Although I am not sure about the exact prices, the following models should all be below 30K, maybe even 25k:

- Sony 32CX350
- Panasonic TH-L32U5D
- Samsung 32" Series 4
- LG 32CS470, 32LK430

Just demo them and decide. While demo, ensure that there is a Full HD LCD/LED 32" model near. Switch to the same source, e.g., DTH and then observe SD first. Check picture quality. Make an observation for at least 15 minutes. Do not go to HD first or your judgment will be biased. If a TV looks good in SD, it will definitely feel better in HD also. After satisfaction of SD, switch to HD and again observe.

Visit multi-brand showrooms and not just one of them such as Reliance Digital, eZone, Croma, Next, etc.

Also check ...
- Sony 32CX420 (this is a full HD model too but may be just over 30K)

Why is 32" LCD value for money?
I have already stated some of the reasons above. But basically for 25k you will get nearly same as a 32" full HD LED which may be costing more. This leaves you with some savings so when you wish to upgrade to a bigger/better model, say in 3 years, you will NOT feel, I wish I hadn't spent that much earlier on the 32".

But if you are absolutely certain that you will not go for an upgrade for some years to come, then go for your best desires.

The market is so dynamic. New models are introduced every now and then and prices change significantly. Hence it is difficult to maintain a table. :(

thank you very much sir. i agree with you totally...
can you tell me which among those quoted above models is the best in terms of performance & VFM ?
you know what we expect in a new tv...
so here i want to re iterate once again that i want a better picture quality with multi format support & good sound output... i am not at all concerned about the LED/3D or i am not in a mood to upgrade my tv in another 3 yrs... i want to use it ill its picture tube dies... so now u understand my requirement...
think that u urself is buying a tv for ur home & let me know... i dont have the liberty to go to a multi brand showroom & check all the specs & analyse the performance of each tv and decide which LCD/LED performs best...

so i depend on ur decision alone , i believe you wont advice me something bad... that assurance i have from this forum... pls help me out... since the options are too much, its quite cumbersome for me to choose the right one... hence i am requesting you to choose the best one for me pls...or anyone who can help me... i need the help of this forum gurus pls...

waiting for an invaluable inputs pls on finalization of which tv to buy....

You don't have to call me "sir" or anything. :)

Secondly, it will be wrong to base a decision on someone else's say so. What I or anyone advises will be individual perception although with some thought process. Since your TV is meant for long term purposes, I advise that you should make a round to at least two multi-brand showrooms. Don't let the salesperson know about your research and all. Just ask him to demo.

Demo is a must. You don't have to go thru each and every spec. Leave the specs to the guys at CNET. Just trust your eyes and select what looks good. But be sure to take remote in your own hands and change picture mode to "Normal" on all TVs. Showroom guys set the picture to bright/vivid/dynamic setting that happens to be unnaturally saturated.

As you mentioned "long term", you should look at Sony 32CX420 or even the Sony 32NX520. I am assuming that your budget is mildly flexible (up to 4K or so). But do not let the budget extend too much.

oh god, that sony model is even more costlier than the samsung LED model ?
is sony that good in terms of picture quality / A.S.S for the customer ?
whats the matter with other brands like panasonic vierra, LG/ toshiba ? which one has the best picture tube & its long life ?
which one should i consider while buying a LCD tv ? i think we can produce the clear picture with good menu settings on any models right ? or is it just that the bravia engine which produces the best picture in sony tv ???
clear my doubts pls...

is hitachi better than Akai ?
also why LCD is costlier than LED mostly ???
friends, i seriously need your help in deciding which model to buy under which brand ?
pls help me...

While price is a good indicator of the quality, it is not necessarily so. As I said, go to shops and demo for yourself. Trust your eyes.
