Sorry to hijack this thread with my problems.

My signature below has my hardware details.

Funny thing is that I manage to play the video from desktop to Acer via AVR in Jan '13 . Not sure if was the right mix of HDMI cables since I got 6-7 of those - all bought from Amazon US. But having tried some 15-20 times over the past year...it failed each time....its very frustrating since most of my content is on my desktop.

I also got a Philips Blu ray player..however when I connect my hard drive - it too fails to play downloaded movies..problems with AC3 sound

AC3 works well with desktop based systems which will decode on PC and get analog stream out soundcard with proper 5.1 setup.. however if you are using digital setup AC3 dosent work. even if the audio is nto playing the video should work..

regarding the cables. it seems to be more of handshake issue. you should try connecting to the laptop directly instead of AVR and then try if it works.

also as per the laptop models all of them have shortcut keys to output to secondary monitor. try that and use the bottom button on remote to rescan on hdmi 1/2. see if it works..

i see that you added some kind of monoprice 3d stuff. why do you need it ??
you can play a SBS movie and let the projector do the conversion. either ways you can play a 2D movie and let the projector make is 3D.

Thanks..actually mine is the older 5360 2D model hence bought the monoprice for 3D.

IF i connect my desktop directly to projector via HDMI, it works, but what about audio? yesterday there were some suggestions on checking my graphics card..will do that over the weekend.

Since i am very frustrated with this thing, i was thinking of disposing off my 5360 and get the 5380 from US. Hence was checking out this thread.

I am having little flickering issues with my 3d glasses which I bought from ebay. I am not sure whether this is related to the glasses or it is general issue with active shutter glasses. I have also ordered one pair from sainsonic. Need to see whether flickering is still there with these glasses. I think passive glasses do not give flickering issues but they will not work with dlp link technology which our projectors have.

There shouldn't be be an issue with Sainsonic glassed as I have used both types.May be the battery not charged.

I am too hoping that sainsonic glasses do not give this issue of flickering. Its four weeks since I made the order from sainsonic still waiting to recieve them. In standard delivery mode they tell it takes 4-5 weeks to deliver the product. Lets hope they come in next week.

Hi krishnenduk
you are one of the few members who own 5380. Just wanted to know do you feel eye strain after watching for couple of hours. Can u share your settings of the projector.

Active 3D glasses always have slight flickering, it is normal. But if the flickering is severe then check the battery.

DLP linked glasses are not prone to it.I have used both and never got flickering.Yes IR glasses used to have that. There must be something wrong.

I have a battery based dlp glass bought from eBay. Initially there was lots of flickering but after replacing the battery the flickering stopped.

The glasses I have are rechargeble. So no chance of replacing the batteries. And before use I had charged the glasses. But I have also read that active shutter glases have flickering issues.

Not always,at least with sainsonic which are 144Hz.I had rechargeable earlier and had no any issue with 2 of them.Even another FM didnt.

I have ordered these from sainsonic (quantity of 4) as suggested by other FMs here.

Specialized in Bluetooth, Ultrasonic, IR technologies. SainSonic 144HZ 3D Active Shutter Glasses For Acer DLP Projector, Acer H6510BD Projector makes from 3D Glasses, Smartphone Accessories, Thermometer to Beauty Machine

It's been 3 weeks and I don't have them yet. Is this a reasonable wait for these glasses? This is the tracking info as given by sainsonic.

Hi!

Im having issues with my H5370BD. When im looking at a 3d movie my glasses start to flicker for a second and then its back to normal. Any hints on fixing this? I think it may have started when i mounted to projectr in the ceiling.

Sometime its a signal receiving issue. If it works later without issue, then its ok. Before the movie start, there is no 3D signal and glasses turn off automatically.Once it receives the signal(movie starts),it turns on and you may find flickering.
