Acer H5370BD - Impressions

Hello frinds, I m planning to buy a 3d projector and after going though later part of this thread it looks like that acer5380 is a good way to get it into projector user community, have a 20*12 room which I am planning to convert into HT room as already have a onkyo HTIB,
just have few questions/queries which I like you HFV brothers to help me with

1.My room have lots of natural light so will the projector work ok in there after curtains and black glasses on windows.
2. Will a white wall will do a good job as screen or need a screen (if no please suggest some good screens under 5 6 k)
3. Do this comes with 3d glasses.
4. I m in Dubai right now so will be buying the pj from here only so what price should I expect(will do my research on this for sure)

This projector is bright but you definitely need to control the light completely otherwise black/ dark scenes will not be upto the mark.

Yes. It will work. However it is recommended to have a screen. You can add screen later.

No

25K to 30K should be good price

Guys,

I am stuck between the Sainsonic rechargeable vs button battery variety of 3d glasses. Which are better and is there any inherent advantage of one over the other. btw the button batteries are cheap and widely available.

Thanks

I have 2 pairs of rechargeable ones and inbuilt battery of one of them has conked of in less than a month. Now I have to plug a power source cable to it while watching (not a perfect way to watch) - will highly recommend the replaceable battery models - which model and from where are you planning to buy them?

I had mentioned already that Battery replaceable has much better picture quality due to high contrast level.I had used both.

Thanks for your inputs jsanand and spirovious. I have ordered the button battery type, hoping to receive it by 20th of Aug.

Thats true, express shipping to US is 12$ and to India is close to 34$. Since i was getting it shipped to US , i was prepared to pay that xtra 12$ because it would reach in 5 to 7 days and my friend is travelling from US on the 15th of Aug. Luckily the support guy(Jason) informed me that any purchase over 100$ qualifies for free express shipping ( I was surprised and amused).

Also ordered for a 3 in 2 out HDMI splitter. Planning to connect my Tata SKY HD box and HD Media Player to my TV and Projector via this splitter. Might add a gaming console in the future as well. Not sure of the quality of the product though, taking a risk, will post once i receive and start using it.

My projector and the HDMI connector landed yesterday. Did a round of test run, it's amazing. At a distance of 15 feet I get a 104 x 64 inches image. Will post more pics later.
