No it is not... IMO...
And here is my reason:: No DLNA stream from home NAS or HDD Remember Apple's Air Play...

Here is one review I found which clearly mentions the lack of DLNA support...

Native DLNA support is very imp, plus Amazon fire TV is very much ties to its own ecosystem, not somethign I would like. For pure internet streaming apps ROKU is best. As an HD media player KDLinks HD720 seems to be on the top spot these days ...

Plex is good on the fire tv. Im using it for more than a month. No complaints.

Doesn't work in India, Need US VPN.
