Anyone ever checked out or experied a Vu LED?? Is it a brand that can be trusted???

Re: Anyone ever checked out or experied a Vu LED?? Is it a brand that can be trusted?

I have 1+ 2 yrs of extended warranty on this tv.
How much can the warranty be extended?
I'd really like to upgrade from my 46inch toshiba LED but only if the warranty extension goes above 4 years

I don't think they have warranty for more than 2 years. You can check with the customer service of VU if they do. In my opinion 1+2 years is a good enough deal looking at the price you pay for the TV+Warranty. The way TV panels are evolving, I'm sure LED would be outdated by that time, and OLED would be prevalent or maybe something even better...

I am interested to buy VU's 40" Smart Full HD TV - H40K311. Have been reading its reviews on Flipkart and most users have been reporting satisfactory reviews. Anyone here using this specific model? The refresh rate is mentioned as 60Hz but advertised as Smooth Motion rate with 120 Hz - how does this help in improving motion display?

So let me get as objective as I can on VU. I bought one of the first few models of VU LED flat panel of an odd size 47". It was excellent. Subsequently, after about 3 years it started to fade and developed many issues. I had no reason to go anywhere else so I bought a VU 65" XT780, to replace the older one. A little over a year with remaining 2 years of warranty I still have that in one of the rooms. It upsets me so much, that I think it unethical to even sell it to anyone else. Bad is an understatement. That said, a TV is good or bad depending on your expectation from it. In 2007, when I bought the first VU, I wasn't affected so much by colours as by the SD reproduction. Once I started making films myself, colours became a huge part of my conscience. And VU has terrible colours. Its blacks are charcoal, reds bleed, I mean I can go on. It has screwed up viewing angles. Since my expectation from a TV had substantially increased, VU had to be deposited out. Some may not be too fussy hence it still might be a good choice. Though the money OP has, he can go for TVs with better reproduction. Like I told Ms. Saraf on twitter, VU has stopped making televisions, its just a slate with a muffle of colours.
