I too thought this to be genuine. It's an april fools prank they pulled. But with their stockpile of snakeoil in inventory dwindling/limited, scented audio is a promising direction manufacturers can steer themselves toward

Won't spraying a little bit of room spray towards the AC/Fan solve that problem? Do you really need your speaker to do that job?

With technology and products that comes out, you never know what will become an accepted norm. Initial reactions can range from it seeming to be bizarre, which can later on become a fad and in some cases to something we all hanker after!
In the 60s there was smell-o-vision, which was intended to release "smells" during a movie screening. There is also a parallel engineering field, digital scent technology, which is a research in progress. Who knows, maybe audiophiles in the future will have one more variable to fight over, smell (we already have speakers around us, on ceiling, under the seats and what not already )
