Hi all.

Looking for a basic 40 inch led TV (No smart features, not even movie playback) Just a good quality display and at least 2/3hdmi in.
Important criteria, should be as cheap as possible. but from a good reputed brand. (samsung, sony LG etc...)
Have all the accesories with HTPC, Speakers etc....
OK for a grey market item if it is worth the hassle.

Edit: Requirements
Full HD, 2/3 HDMI, component in.
VGA/DVI IN (if 2 inputs)
Good viewing angles

Can this be achieved in 40k? the cheaper the better.

im not sure about LED..but if youre okay with plasma..there are a lot of choices in samsung.. 43 inches samsung plasma would cost 35k max.. i got a E490d (3d plasma 720p) about 8 months back for 38400/-

Thirumal:

Trust me... we all came into this forum asking for which LED or LCD TV to buy... but have spent enough time and energy here and understood plasma is the only way :yahoo:

Simple fact: LED is just a glorified LCD screen only and show rooms show it in dynamic mode.

Ask showroom guy to show you LED, LCD and Plasma in normal mode and you will realize plasma quality is un-comparable. They will tell you the reverse of this because, they get more margin in LED and LCDs.

And plasma means panasonic.... don't think about any other model.... There are umpteen threads here discussing 40 inch and 50 inch plasmas... browse through them....

Good luck!!!

P.S. Do enough research and due diligence before putting in your hard earned money..... See reviews, compare physically and then decide.

If you are OK with buying online you can get toshiba pb20 for 33k. Very good tv. Check snapdeal. But it's lcd, not led.

Thanks Guys for the replies.

Regardsig plasma, themajor bummer is THe room is bright and since the tv is for the family viewing, they might not reduce the ambient light .
I just checked for Toshiba pu200 in snapdeal. seems a good one.
Any ideas about the same (Brightness, black levels etc...)

any idea where can I get one / check in bangalore?

why not LG, just follow an active thread for 42 inch plasma in HFV with recent buyers sharing their reviews
toshiba on any day is great pickup anyway

Hi All,
Had a demo with the famous LG42pn4500..
Its pretty good for the price. Moreover I heard there is one more model 42PA4520 which has 3hdmi in.
Any one from Bangalore guide me wher I can find the best price for it?

Moreover, How is the Reconnect from Reliance?
Any experiences?
They were running a DVD so couldn't figure out how it is. and that Bu**er said remote is not available.

I have seen reconnect at Reliance digital here in ambiance mall gurgaon , IMO not a worth to buy..its better to spend money on sony , lg,panasonic.

If you are not particular about DVI/VGA input you can think about Panasonic

I bought 50" LED for 64.5K

Go for the Philips led tvs...for the price they are brilliant n extremely VFM. I already have a Philips 5000 series n there are couple of member where who will vouch for its great PQ.

Yes, they are now made by videocon in India but the the stuff inside is still Philips...n it's picture processing engine is one of the better ones out there.
There specs are also brilliant..to say the least..but if ur going for Philips, look for 5000 n above series.
There 32" led form there 6000 series is Arnd 26k which is brilliant considering it's specs rival most mid end Sony/Samsung series.
Philips have always made some of the best LCDs...have won numerous awards.
Way better then going for cheap stuff like micromax or reconnect or even videocon...when u can get Philips.
Go to the Philips India site...n u can also see various reviews posted by buyers.

I went for a 40 inch Toshiba LED. PU200. Bought it for 35900.
Was considering LG PN4500 Plasma which was in a similar price range. Took the LED plunge after I checked out the Toshiba TV at the showroom. The pictures were much better than Samsung and LG kept next to this.
