BDP-S590 - Sony -3D

Hi,

I am keen to buy sony 3D Blueray player.India sites shows BDPS480 which is out of stock and also doesn't play .divx I called up 3-4 sony centers and they said new model is arriving But I am hearing that from past 1 month.

I found 1 good model Sony BDP-590 on ebay india site

Rs. 16,488 Has good reviews but US amazon showsprice around 200$

Kindly let me know if any one knows if sony is launching any new 3D blue ray player model in india in next 2 months.

I am not keen on Samsung products because they mostly break after 1 yr of use.

the link is from carttoindiaonline..all their prices are with duty and all.
so its okay at 16k..one thing if you buy from them consider voltage levels.I dont know this nmodel or all sony models come with a 110-240 vlot compatibilty..or requre step down transformer.a good step down transformer of 300VA range will cost a good amount.consider that.
I am also plannnig for a br player and I am also at the same confusion state u are.hyeah:

btw pana 3d models are good...??
if you are finally going to buy region C player why dont try a showroom and check all usb file compatibilty urself.

and instesd of going for a new model better to buy at a less price a proven super hit model of say 2 years old launch..just my opinion.

I bought Sony HX750 32" model after comparing with Samsung (colors look too oversaturatedd ) I have ruled out Samsung brand also buz both my Samsung galaxy s plus ,galaxy 5003 mobiles slowed down ,my dvd write showing probs so now I have decided no more Samsung. Will spend extra 5-10 K but to get more reliable

Checked Pioneer, Panasonic , Philips but most of them also don't play divx dvid and they come around 12,500. If Sony is coming for 15,000 16000 I am fine with it
But problem is Sony call center/showroom do not give any clarity on when new model will arrive.I don't want to go with their Blue ray home theater system

Besides I am thinking that having Sony blue-ray + Sony tv will sync well

Hopefully by Month end sony puts new blueray player for sale else no option to buy from ebay. But will surely consider your recommendation on voltage check.

Blu-ray players have a feature called "control via HDMI". By turning this option ON, if the player is connected via HDMI (which it will be mostly), one can use the TV remote to control basic BD functions (play, stop, pause, FF, REW, etc.).

My Sony BDP-S360 is connected to my ST50 and I am using ST50 remote to control BDP.

Beware of cart2indiaonline. They are fraud. I had ordered a shampoo & these cheats sent some fireproof spray paint!!! (I mean, cheat with some intelligence!!!)

Had to escalate to eBay to get my refund. Took about a month & half.

Be warned.

Difficult to say without side by side comparison. Individual tastes differ. Samsung series 8 is top of the line from Samsung whereas HX850 is supposedly second best from Sony stable, after HX925.

So you got the refund,what did you do with the fire retardant paint? Did you send it back?? Those paints cost times more than a bottle of shampoo!!

If you are planning to spend that much - have you considered going for a projector? any Epson 1080p or HD33 are good options (my friend has a GT750E)

between the two you mentioned - my brother has a HX850 and swears by it (he did intensive research before buying it)
